The first half of the kzbin.infoUgkx3ICSK6nSknaL_45CU2NmFSoXjarGMDiJ book is everything about wood: types, tools, finishes, setting up shop etc. The second half is all about doing projects for inside and outside of the home. The color pictures are helpful. After reading a dozen of these types of books, this is probably the best overall (layout, color photos, plans). Only detraction is that many of the projects use a table saw/router/planer, which are usually expensive and take up space, so the plans are less friendly to newcomers and the budget conscious. But I know I can use a drill, circular saw or a jigsaw to make the projects.

This from my country, the wood workers are not poor (compare to other jobs). They just dont get enough training on safety and they think that not necessary. And we want to change that. Safety First!

Very good work. Just an improvement could be to use router on lower exterior edges of wooden strips, to make it appear rounded like a beading design..

The safety police would be in 7th heaven in that shop. People should keep in mind that these tradesmen are not weekend warriors and without a doubt their safety awareness is way up there....

A wonderful shop! Very airy and spacious. Low noise level. Safety factor is quite good. Why should he need safety boots? Is a machine going to topple over on him? Is one of those little pieces of lumber going to fall and crush his toes? This is not some cramped, air-tight workshop operated by a single tradesman who is dependent on technology for his safety. The workmen are very comfortable and fully aware of the dangers of their tools - take a closer look at the smoothness of their operations and how well they handle their tools. (I once worked for a Shell oil packaging unit, cleaning the parking lot, the safety factors were so extensive that our team could get only half day of work sometimes with the rest being gobbled up in paperwork, inspections, drills, lectures, interrogations, etc.) Nice remarks by Trung Nguyen, USAGeorgePa, Jorge Borjas, Richard Defour, EDWARD Nygard, fightington (!!!), Anthoney Allen)

Yep, great work, great results, sadly, as MR.NVC suggests, safety has taken a back seat. Nice work on the shutter door, and good idea in putting in the hinge recesses before the slats are in.

Honestly, how many of us are making home made shutters? Yes, they are pricey to buy, but this level of equipment and time to make it at home is well beyond the vast majority of people, in their garage workshop. I don't see anything particularly high on the technical skills level here, but the investment in time and equipment is extremely high for what you end up with. I can think of at least 30 things I'd prefer to spend this amount of time on, that would be worth a LOT more to me than a shutter.

I wonder how dare some people are mocking these hard workers. I agree that safety measures are not up to standards but no need to make jokes and insulting these people. If you don’t like it press dislike or don’t watch or just give your professional feedback. I bit that most of the people who are making jokes never held a saw in their hands

@blackwaterblades20986 жыл бұрын
Danny Mistry that was far from basic. lets see them use a hand drill a circular saw a handful of chisels and a hand saw. they actually have some higher tech tools
@weyrunner28386 жыл бұрын
Danny Mistry, what are you calling "basic tools"? What are you talking about? you must know something most don't. Carpenters where I live are work are literally "deprived" of the huge variety of shop equipment, the ample space enjoyed by this crew, and the Lax work environment. OMG, what I would give to be spoiled like these happy campers! That place is like a huge "PLAY ROOM" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Was talking to a lady from Nigeria about how fast art forms such as basket weaving and wood working was disappearing from her country amongst the youth. I asked why do you think that is. She said because the youth see the older people with their ackes and pains of squatting over their work on the ground. Funny how you can make the best art but can't make a simple table top to work on. Or maybe a stool. Not mention as a negative comment just a quarry as why.
