I think the boards keep the full weight of gravel off the conveyor so it runs freely.

The conveyor will be overloaded if the full material sets on it so only wood boards are used to make the conveyor runs in a limited load

Never seen a more disposable human,the hi-viz,will make it slightly easier to find his body,after he has fallen in. Good job,the safety shoes will protect his feet,though.Could they not filter it another way?Oh,this China,there will be,at least,1000 to replace him.Looks like ballast stone,froma railway,hence,the wooden sleepers.

Where's he gonna go? If he falls he can get back up and walk the load back to where he was its not like the belt is running at 200 feet a min.
