@@moeezawan2329 Moeez, I live 3-4 miles from the ground, I am born Liverpool, my Dads Ashes was spread in the Kop goal, I was at St Ettiene, Chelsea, and many more where my 14 year old feet would be lifted from the steps for up to 5 minutes because I was jammed in the KOP and the swaying crowd, The Kop was supposed to hold 15-20'000 maybe, but as the gates outside where pushed open by a further 10-15000, who knows how many got in the atandances was never true because of it...my point is...Its about the passion of the support, if you go to the first televised game between Liverpool and Arsenal at Anfield the BBC were there making a documentary about these fans who were the only ones who sung, and during it's commentary the KOP was singing Beatles Songs behind that reporter. Galatasaray took the decibels record from Liverpool... It is not just about noise level or attendances etc, The Kop are known for its influence on games and it has always been known to LFC fans how many other fans of mainly other clubs who claim one thing or another, Glasgow Celtic claimed YNWA was their song? this is laughable after the Fact Gerry Marsden introduced Bill Shankly to the Song on the Melwood training ground all them years ago, As I remember back in mid to late seventies Liverpool KOP took it as their Anthem and Gerry Marsden WAS a big Liverpool fan anyway. So Now, read this from a search I just did... Over the years, Anfield has remained one of the best stadiums in the world in terms of attendance figures, popularity and stature, mainly due to the Kop stand. One of the largest single tier stands in the world, The Kop houses the most v= ocal and passionate home supporters, usually referred to as Kopites. The importance of the Kop stand can be gauged by how rival players celebrate when they score against that end 72=80=93 The Kop is hallowed turf for the Anfield faithful, and it is said that the ball somehow gets sucked into the goal owing to the constant chanting from the fans.
