Both girls want to be the dominant alpha female. With this play fighting they test each other strength. Iriki should be the highest ranking female, because she has the youngest baby. Tayari has a more extrovert character than Iriki, so she will test to see if she can be the dominant female.D’Jeeco could show the girls who is his favorite female, but it look like he has a good relation with both of them. It’s a happy family with lots of interesting developments in the next years while the boys grow up. The boys will be playing much more in the near future when Iriki relaxes more and allows her son to play without her constantly guarding him.

@@gregsutton2400 That’s how it works in the wild. But sometimes silverbacks have a favorite female. Just like we get along better with some people. Tayari and Iriki’s father (silverback Jambo), really liked the female Kisiwa in his group. Who didn’t get along very well with the other females. She almost always was sitting by herself (with baby) on the acre big outdoor enclosure. The other gorillas did often group together.

I agree that Iriki looked as though she was crying, and wanted DJ to stop the fight. Seeing the expression on her face, my heart broke for her. Poor Mama was holding her baby, and still being beaten up by the crazy one. Tay doesn't even know where her baby is for heavens sake! I feel sorry for Iriki, it is apparent who DJ favors, both have given him offspring but are not equal. It certainly did not look like play to me, Tay was staking a claim, and oblivious to the danger that she placed Iriki's baby in.

I think they both want to be the #1female in dejeeco s life tayari wants it more than lirki n tay ari really works it harder lriki use to when Ringo was a baby not so much now but no matter what lriki do or don't do tayari feels she's that one lriki don't pay tayari any attention most times as long as tayari don't don't bother her.they have learned to both go separate ways but we all know how tayari can get when djeeco is around them both.

Ringo's mom is Iriki, both of them have darker fur. Jabali's mom is Tayari, both of them has lighter hair. I also spent some time to recognize them in the beginning. 😀

If your sole purposes for watching (because it surely isn’t to learn) is to post hateful, uneducated and misinformed comments than you clearly are the winner this week of the “ 🥇🖤👹” award. It’s beyond me how people think this is fun or funny. Tayari, to my mind, is way overboard-agonistic, with fingers up Iriki’s birthing canal (whatever you want to call it, it was violent 2:00 to 2:07), giving her boob a nasty thumb poke, grab, and twist 5:43, and whacking her over the head. Iriki, who’s still looking quite miserable with the hay allergy and meds, appears torn between getting away, trying to give it back, mildly keeping it going, or plain collapsing. What a mix of emotions she must be undergoing. And just an hour ago, I was asking on a different vid whether the girls were still aggressively ‘’wrestling’’ or the episodes were just not being filmed. This is not normal. It’s attack. And, from what I’ve read recently about gorilla agression in captivity, creates mountains of stress for Iriki.

None of it is play, it was all an attack. Tayari only cares where her son is when it will save her from being disciplined. When ever dad approached her she ran to her son or he ran to her. It was just a sustained and escalating attack. She was flailing with full slaps right at the baby. Repeatedly.

Jabali was trying to stay out of the way of the fight but they rolled over top of him. Wow Jabali started helping Iriki to fight off his mother Tayari. They are not playing look at Iriki's face it almost looks as if she is crying and she goes to D'jeeco asking him to make her stop. Tayari won't stop even got angry beating her chest and stumping her feet Oh Tayari what have you done.🙄🥺😢 Well adlest he ran to protect you from D'jeeco.

Keep Dreaming Sandra, The gurls just want to have fun. They are doing what they did when they where young. If DJ hurts Taytay her sister will attack him like she has done in the past. Don't underestimate them. DJ is the odd one out and after the last fight Irikki missed her sister like hell and she would never want any distance between them Chama, Irriki and Taytay where very close sisters at Apenhaul. maybe you should do more research before you judge. It a harem of sisters.

From what you just explained, I would suggest that they both have behavior problems possibly due to mental illness/disorder or neurodivergence of some kind. They do share some genetics which increases the likelihood. Is this acceptable behavior for females in a wild gorilla troop? I know Tayari and Iriki were born in captivity but perhaps these behaviors are an unfortunate side effect? I love each of these gorillas and wish I were spying on them in the wild instead. 😊❤

I don't know if it is possible but Iriki's going to start to really distance herself from Tayari. Tayari has been faking affectionate action towards the whole family kissing,hugging, grooming and feeding Jabali a little more 👪 , she is sitting herself up to be outcasted from the family. She is going to hurt/kill Ringo if she doesn't stop attacking Iriki.
