Totally wrong on the Belgian train, it was never intended to be used as the Orient Express, the class 620 was a 2 car diesel train from 1939, and was intended purely for domestic traffic, on less busy times on the mainline and later even on some rural branchlines. It would lack the seating capacity and kitchen and restaurant facilities, and also the sleeping roomettes which were a hallmark of the Orient Express. Some urban explorers had taken pictures of this train wreck and called it the Orient express, and this YT channel is stupid and ignorant enough to believe what random people put on the internet, without doing proper research.

I‘m actually a little confused that you forgot to mention the story of the German Transrapid. It actually holds about three speed records across nine generations and all vehicles are abandoned as the test track closed down. A slightly changed version of the TR08 still runs in Shanghai and reached speeds of over 310 mph (~ 500 km/h).

Trains, particularly locos, had only ever been developed to move whatever commodity, usually from source(quarry, sugar plantation, coalmine, etc)straight to the dock, to go on a ship. To be traded, as soon as possible. Passenger trains, have always been an afterthought. When Britain colonized various countries, one of the first things was to build a line from source,to ship. No stations, no stopping, just freight.

Hi from Green Bay Wisconsin USA. The G.M. Aerotrain #2 is right here at the National Railroad Museum. I was the official tour guide and paid employee from 1984 to 1989. I always had to change the tour speech for each group, whether is was 5 year old kids in Kindergarten, or 70 year old senior citizens. The Aerotrain diesel is called Class L.W.T.-12, for Light Weight Train with 1200 horsepower. But it was under-powered. Also the wheel arrangement is B-1, with only the forward truck having only 2 traction motors on a Flex-coil frame. But nearly 50% of weight was carried on only 1 idle axle. Clearly it should have been a B-B with 4 motors , and 1600 HP. With the bus body coaches, all vestibules and doors faced forward. With 40 seats each, times(x) 10 coaches per set equals(=) 400 passengers. But the two-2 axles are supported on air bags, leading to a rough ride on rough track, and extremely bad vibrations. These bus coaches have very large couplers that included air hoses and electrical connections that were supposed to connect automatically, but won't work. While some also liked the angular windows. But the aluminum bodies were too lightweight, but couldn't activation the semaphores nor grade crossing gates. Rock Island retired them in 1966. Then donated diesel #2 and 2 coaches here to Green Bay. Then also diesel #3 and 2 coaches were donated to St. Louis. But all other coaches were scrapped, along with the 2 special obversation cars with twin tail fins, styled after the sports cars of the 1950's jet age and space race. But the 2 coaches in Green Bay continued to carry passengers around this museum's circular track for nearly 25 years until 2001. First pulled by the little Plymouth #702, then EMC from 1938 NW-1 #90, plus CNW #4404 GP15 during their employee picnic. Then 1985 Miss Budweiser red 20-tonner Plymouth. And 1989 fake steamer/diesel made from Sumter and Choctaw RR in Alabama#102-2-8-2 Mikado 64 tons by Baldwin 1924 as worlds lightest standard guage Mikado. And East Troy Electric #3 G.E. 45 tonner center cab with side rods, but disguised with a tender body. But it was a disaster and always fails. So please write a real letter to NRRM, and Really Demand them to rebuild the #102 back to a regular display loco. But Not this ugly Frankenstein Hybrid. Thank you!! "10-Q"!! 73.

The Chicago trolley's Ed Metca purchased were nicknamed "Green-Hornets" because of their futuristic, low to the ground, streamlined design, and their green and cream paint-scheme. Most of them lived on for another twenty-plus years as "EL(evated)-Trains" with their bulbous ends lopped off. The rest were piled up and turned to scrap after Chicago abandoned street-level railed transit and went to trolley buses that ran on rubber tires but used the overhead electric wires for power. The electric buses were, ironically, pulled out of service and abandoned right before the gas crisis on the early 70s hit.

That's ok, it's not like it's ingrained at birth, so as with everything else you come across knowledge as you come across it.
