@jordy22994 жыл бұрын
@@kons37flyingreaperoldchann21 it’s “a meter” not “an meter”. Let me teach you this, it’s very simple and it will improve your English. If a word begins with a vowel, these are: a,e,i,o,u,y, then you use “an” for example: an oven an English breakfast If a word starts with a consonant: b,c,d,etc... you use “a” for example: a car a person If you’re not sure if it’s a vowel or a consonant, try pronouncing three of them in a row. You can’t pronounce three consonants, but you can pronounce three vowels. For example: You can pronounce: aaa You can’t pronounce: ttt If you don’t pronounce a consonant, it doesn’t count, like “An honorable man” as the guy replying said. Then the letter next to it counts. But this is confusing, so you don’t have to take this seriously until you speak English fluently.

@davidthomas28704 жыл бұрын
@@CoolGobyFish the theory was it doesnt have to cross bridges if it can cross along the bottom (or in the case of the Ratte or Monster, is simply tall enough to cross any river without submerging). Turns out that doesnt work though because river beds are soft and when you're already fighting your enormous ground pressure to not get stuck on dry land, being underwater in a 100+ton steel box with no flotation gear is a death sentence. I admire the Soviets for managing to get the wrecked Maus prototype all the way to Kubinka. It's the furthest anyone ever moved the darn thing.
@CoolGobyFish4 жыл бұрын
@@davidthomas2870 yes, they probably took it apart. also, the prototype doesn't have an engine. so it's significantly lighter. it was actually put together from two prototypes. the one with the engine was blown up by Nazis. So the turret was taken from it and the chassis was from the unfinished one (without an engine)
@davidthomas28704 жыл бұрын
@@CoolGobyFish true, but that's still a lot of work and an impressive feat to disassemble and reassemble it even as complete as it is given the lengths the germans took to destroy it. Also, the hull and turret are all one piece, so those at least remained together. That's a lot of metal

The Ridge Wallet, produced in 1944 as a last-ditch effort to stop the Allies, it was an immense but due to its low width it was deadly, bombers and attackers could not locate them as they were a titanium line of impending doom! loaded with Credit Card Round that would swipe even the strongest of frontal armor on any of the heaviest tanks! | In 1945 the crews of the Ridge Wallet were cramped and had back pain due to the poor conditions it offered for the crew, so the majority of crews ultimately lost to surrendering. | The Allies located the blueprints in a German Bunker and reconstructed the Ridge Wallet on a smaller scale, the 1950s came around and the US figured out how to make Credit Card Round, the whole US was swiping the heaviest of armor the ATMs prevailed for them, it was revolutionary!

@shimmy71694 жыл бұрын
Youd be surprised how good the tank was. Firstly, if it was deployed on the Western side it could easily crush through anything thrown at it, thanks to its huge armour. (Only to the Soviets it would have been a slight problem. Since the ISU with HE rounds could take it out). Second part is the "going around it", which would do nothing,byod be wasting time while the crew inside would be laughing at you. Thirdly the "drop a bomb" arguement on it. It could work but, if its unstoppable it can go right through enemy lines, opening up the possibility of massive friendly fire. The bomb would have to be huge to blow a crater in it and the bomb would have to effectively be dropped right on the tank. Put enough flak variants of this tank together with it and you effectively have a fortress, in a fortress. The flak cannons could blow up bombs as they are coming down while the original maus can focus on the land targets. All this is assuming if Germany didnt have any problems with logistics at near end of the war obviously
@idaboi83784 жыл бұрын
On the drop a bomb point, its slow as all hell. You're not gonna have a friendly fire incident. It wasnt unstoppable either. Its tracks are a huge target so immobilising the maus isn't going to be hard, making it an easy target for allied/soviet aircraft and heavy arty. On the "unstoppable" point. Lets assume the Germans deployed it and magically they were able to supply a proper panzer division and their famously terrible logistics wasn't a problem, it would just speed up allied development of better tanks and/or shells which they were doing anyways but as the war was already won they didnt have a need to. Also, given how much it weighed, good like getting over any river, so its certainly not getting to the western front anytime soon.
@IamDogge4 жыл бұрын
They should have just mass produced an efficient Pz. IV but up armored and an improved engine and transmission, some improved 7.5 cm guns for a new turret design, and better crew layout. Simple, have some lighter tanks and some heavier, some tank destroyers, and improvements added fittingly and maybe things would be better. Idk I’m not smart but thats what I would do
@Corrupt1723 ай бұрын
Fun fact the rate is a giant tank monster with two main cannons 2 maus cannons for attacking behind and also four artillery cannons Also the “Dora” tank is a bigger version of the “Karl” tank and it’s so heavy that it needs to be transported by train tracks it gets its ammo from little train carts with giant bullets that can rise up to give it ammo
