They have a few on the Bris Amazon store. I was going to buy it but I've worried that it would make it harder to fish out of. Definitely something I'll probably add in the future.

The site you recommended for the registration's plate reads "Self-adhesive is not recommended for boats that are rolled up for storage, regularly inflated/deflated, or extreme hot/cold weather". I take it you glued it instead of using the self adhesive. What kind of glue did you used and how is it holding with inflation/deflation? Thanks for your Bris videos, very helpful.

A few people on FB group use it with rollup with good results. I also just got the same plate from them, black with white letters and self adhesive glue. The boat will be on trailer so I hope it stays for more than a few years.
@HufflerGarage

I did use glue. We are in the process of making a video on this. I used PVC Stitch brand PVC glue on one side and FlexGlue on the other side. Both worked, but the PVC Stich looks a lot better. Now that it is warmer, we are going to glue the numbers on the red dinghy and try a couple other methods to see what works best. I haven't deflated it since the numbers were put on, but we've got some trips coming up so hopefully we'll test have that tested soon. In the next month or so we should have enough info to make a full video on the number plates.

In Florida the common practice was to mount the registration letters/numbers on a strip of Lexan/plexiglas and secure the strip the hand hold ropes.

I got a number plate from www.boatnumberplate.com/ that glues on with PVC glue. We have red plates for the red dinghy as well. It's just been too cold to attach them. We plan on making a video about it when we do, but it just glues on like a patch.

Hey! Man!…I am looking right now at one of these. I noticed that you were (of course) sitting aft so you can control the outboard, but whoa!! That nose in front was elevating high off the water. It looked like it was a nice ‘still’ day with little wind. I wonder how going head-wind would be? Probably capsize situation. I noticed you shuffling you body-weight forward to bring it down. I was looking at the 8’8’ Bris for fishing, but just using an electric trolling motor, so maybe I am being paranoid watching you video…and ‘then!!’ You say you are going to try ‘more’ horse-power, good look my friend, and stay ‘SAFE!’

With the 6HP you can only plane with under 250 lbs and shifting to the front. We’re running a 12 hp on the red dinghy and an 18 hp on the grey one now. They run around 20 - 23 mph. No issues with headwinds.

How long have you used that hangkai motor for? Was looking at getting one on amazon because they are pretty affordable but I read a forum (from yacht guys so it explains it) that said they were pieces of Chinese junk. How has it held up for you? Have you used it for a while? Any issues with it?
@HufflerGarage
@HufflerGarage 2 жыл бұрын
We got these motors in July of 2020. I actually specifically bought it because of all the yacht guys, who never owned one, saying they were junk. They've held up well. I can't say the quality is as good as an American or Japanese motor; but for 1/3 of the price, who can complain?
