My fanttik x8 arrived yesterday, but it's inaccurate, at least compared with other tire gauges. I set it to 32 psi, and it stops airing up which is good, exactly what it's supposed to do. However, when I check the pressure with three other pressure gauges, they all reflect 34.5 psi, for a difference of 2.5 psi. I aired it back down and then back up, and was able to replicate the same outcome. It is an awesome litte gadget for the price, but it should at least be accurate. Nothing against Yammie and his channel. Perhaps I got a dud and it's just a one-off occurrence.

I mean I guess, its like a sweater for your helmet that makes it look like a teddy bear, probably not the worst helmet attachment if you just desperately need something fun to wear and if its between a panda cover vs no helmet, well I'm going to suggest the panda!

Something that EVERY rider should know is that DOT certification doesn't mean a single thing for safety. First off the specs to hit for DOT certification is laughably poor. It's based on very outdated information. Secondly it's a SELF CERTIFIED system, meaning the manafacturer tests it, or gets it tested by a non government 3rd party, they say it passed and that's it. The government doesn't issue the certification, and when tested many many "DOT certified" helmets fail the test. Fortnine has a great video about how garbage DOT is. If you care about safety, do your research

I'll guarantee the helmet in this video was tested by no one. They just slipped a fake sticker on it and sent it out. I believe the trusted brands make dot helmets that would exceed dot requirements. Maybe not good enough for other certs but definitely better than dot. Like hjc for instance. My i90 is dot only but I'm pretty sure its because of the modular design. The i10 is a non modular in a similar price point and is Snell and ece I believe.

Maybe we should just let folks make up their own minds to buy the crap they want. It's not like people never buy high quality gear and some never buy any protective gear at all. It was when I saw that novelty helmet had screws in it, I knew it was a piece of garbage. Pointed metal objects that drill into the structure that is supposed to protect my head and angled to be punched into my skull in a crash gets a huge "nope" from me. A couple of years ago here in the UK a series of Chinese helmets were banned from sale because they were not safe and yet apparently still had a DOT certificate, which makes me wonder what the requirements for a DOT certificate are!

See, I do not have to pay a bribe to get what is due to me because I've already paid my government that doles out money where it is needed so I don't have to! Thank about Mexico where a police officer is given about $5 a day in wages and a gun - have you ever been stopped in Mexico for a motor vehicle infraction? True, but it seems to me like the one possibly useful feature on this helmet - could be useful for night riding, say if you need to adjust your gear or something, or inspect your motorcycle. Makes you a tiny bit more visible as well. I've thought of how a light would be a nice feature on my helmet (plus a red light at the back) but haven't seen a good (and safe) way of doing that.

I always play it safe with helmets, I'm positively dashing and i want to keep it that way thank you. So I spent about £120 on a shark branded helmet that was absolutely plastered in safety stickers and awards. Its completely boring, plain black and round; but when i came off at 70mph, i just got back up with a fresh and enormous scratch on my helmet, nothing more. Well to me at least, the bike was in the shop for a few days. :(

dude i made the jump from a cheap 60$ ILM helmet from amazon to AGV K1 and the difference is astronomical. $300~ usd is completely worth it! Sure, i lost out on the intergrated visor and modular opening on the K1; but the airflow, the pin lock, and the ECE certification are worth it. Also the K1 is much lighter on my head and the fit is firm.

Are they legally allowed to sell it as a full faced helmet? I mean, it’s sold on American Amazon. People get sued for not minding the gap if it wasn’t mentioned beforehand.
@quillmaurer6563
@quillmaurer6563 2 жыл бұрын
In decades past everyone got sued over everything, no matter how frivolous. Since then companies have figured out how to add just the right fine print to be un-suable, meaning those who deserve to be sued most are hardest to. A parameter we should look at for any company is how much they spend on making their products not worth suing over versus adding the right legal jargon to make them impossible to sue. Unfortunately the former people will still find reasons to sue. In this case the company that makes it is surely foreign and can vanish the instant someone tries to sue them, while Amazon has enough legal clout to avoid being complicit, pass the blame onto some other business that can vanish the moment it needs to. Just like their labor practices, they find ways of doing stuff that is bad but they can't legally be blamed for.

Looking at that is junk however I did find a Amazon helmet that I’m very happy with has removable liner and is modular it’s a typhoon helmet. Also on recommendation from an old motorcyclist test where they took really expensive stuff and really cheap stuff and did an testing, my ZOX helmet has been a champ for the last few years. Then of course you can never go wrong with an HJC.

12 years ago when I used to ride I had 3 helmets. An Arai, a Shoei, and a AGV. The cheapest of the 3, Arai, was $600. And it was pretty average compared to my Shoei and AGV. Now keep in mind this was TWELVE years ago... It's 2022 and you bought a helmet on Amazon for 200 dollars. So I gotta ask you. WHAT. THE. FCUK. DID. YOU. EXPECT. Content like this literally kills my brain cells man. God Bless you may the lord save your souls one day.

Lol, I used to ride my dirt bike around town (11 KTM XCF 250) with an MX helmet (I know you aren’t supposed to do that, I was young and dumb) so I got used to wind buffeting/pulling my head back and noise lol, and with it being a dirt bike, I didn’t have a tac/seepdo (I eventually got a speedo) or gear counter .. I got really good at keeping track of my gears and can shift gears by ear , no problem .. I don’t even factor those things in when buying a helmet anymore lol, not unless I’m gonna be listening to music while riding.. the only thing that matters to me is whether my head is going to be a pink smoothie on the tarmac lol

"Time for me to replace this helmet" EPS foam doesn't degrade over time or with exposure to sweat. If your helmet hasn't been physically damaged or the interior exposed to sunlight or solvents, it doesn't need to be replaced.

I use a fox v1 (2012) model I love the air that cools it and its not that loud for a dirtbike helmet and its super comfy. Its a little heavy tho but it has saved my noggin so many times now that im very satisfied and happy with it Definitely my next helmet would be something similar to the fox v1 when it comes to quality for the price

I do not mean this as a flex by any means, but I currently run a Shoei X14. Never have I had a better helmet on my head. The venting, fitment, field of view is excellent! It makes no noise and you can turn your head 45° on the freeway and it still won't try to break your neck. Lightweight, beautiful style, and visor choices for days. All of that being said, I have lost many friends to cheap/no gear, and I personally cannot express how much helmets like these (predator) absolutely sicken me. Take hard earned money away from people who do not know any better, only to give them something somehow less safe than no helmet. I truly find it deplorable that "safety" items like these exist. Thank you guys for making this video, and I hope that it will be seen by the right people before it is too late.
