GREAT video on safety. I am 75 yrs young and have been doing group travels for only 18 years. My core group is 10 - 12 seniors - usually all women. By the grace of God, we have not had any problems. As I hear about problematic issues, I adopt the safety tool to avoid the problem, i,e, CO2 alarm. It is wonderful to see the application of the different devices with great explanation on how to use them. Oh, I signed up for the Minkeeblue bag giveaway. I was already looking for something like that. Thank you AND Minkeeblue for the opportunity. You offer fantastic value to the world of travel. Stay the course.

Look up a device called a Door Jammer. They make a small, portable version that I never travel without. It's very easy to use and will jam up any door. I feel much safer when I travel with it.

The second door jam looks like a really good idea. That said, it might make escaping the room in an emergency very difficult.

I used that first lock on my apartment door in Playa Del Carmen one day when I was nervous about some loud noises one night and it got completely stuck and all my windows had bars so I was stuck inside for hours until the maintenance man walked by the next day and was able to use a hack saw to let me out. Be careful of humidity as wood doors can swell, as in my case. ❤️

I think I will purchase a door jam lock because no room but the bathrooms and the one that leads to the garage in our house has a locket. I never understood why my parents couldn't buy door handles with a locket and they already changed them two times. I live in a safe area but still I have paranoia when I go to sleep. Never realized that I could close my room without changing the handle and bring the lock jam with me when I travel so thank you for this video, I believe that if someone wants to enter they will anyway but the idea is to make it a bit more difficult for them.

LOVE THAT BAG😍😍😍. I will be traveling to La Fortuna for a week with a group of friends. I was actually looking for accessible things to do during our trip. I’m so heartbroken that I’m not able to do the waterfalls 😢. I decided to check out some videos to see what I would be missing and stumbled upon your video. Must’ve been fate, huh?😂 At any rate, I do love that bag. I’m curious 👀 does it come in red?
@gotravelwithstaci Жыл бұрын
Hi there and welcome! Yes as much as we've come in accessibility for those with mobility restrictions, we still have a long way to go. That said, there is still a viewpoint to see the waterfall but it might not be worth the entry fee. Instead, look into accessible activities like Mistico Hanging Bridges, Paradise Hot Springs, or adaptive Ziplining with Il Viaggio Travel. Of course, the town of La Fortuna is beautiful and worth a mosey on a sunny day. Sadly this bag doesn't come in red. This company is woman-owned and a small business that really put quality and care into its products. They do introduce new colors here and there so maybe they will have a red option soon.

Thank you for this video. Is there a gadget that can also test for "Toxic AC Leak Theorized as Possible Cause in Mysterious Deaths of Americans at Bahamas Resort" (If you paste this in Google, you'll see the news story). Is this the same one you shared in your video? In your vid, the story says they died from carbon monoxide poisoning, but I'm wondering if this is something else?
@gotravelwithstaci3 ай бұрын
I heard about that story and if you ask me, something fishy was going on there. It also reported some has bizarre rashes. Anyway the last I read said it was a coolant leak, which I don't think can be ruled out as NOT being carbon monoxide. I don't think there is a travel device for this and it may have not been the reason for their demise. I take my carbon monoxide detector with me everywhere since it might be the most likely culprit for sad stories like this.

Any security gadget that you have to train your brain over and over again as to how to use it, should be thrown out! It was a waste of money. Room security should be easy to learn, as well as fast and easy to install. Unless you’re going out of your way to buy and use a perimeter alarm (which should be used outside your campsite, car, or home, security devices need to be easy and fast enough for an older child to use. Additionally, at 7:22 you introduced the portable carbon monoxide detector. PLEASE BE AWARE, that carbon monoxide gas is heavy and will hang low to the floor. I don’t believe it’s a good idea to have it next to your bed side table. If it can be temporarily propped against a wall about 10 inches from the floor and as close to the heat source as possible, this would be ideal. If you put it on your night stand and the alarm goes off, you are most likely already breathing in the gas. Let’s not do that.
@gotravelwithstaci3 ай бұрын
I agree with you. If it's too intricate, I won't use it. These days, I don't use the door lock gadgets and instead travel with a device called a Door Jammer. It's terribly easy to set up and ultra portable. Hmm that's interesting about CO being heavy. I'll have to look into that. It makes me think about our home smoke/ CO detectors that are usually installed in home/hotel/building ceilings....🤔
