Two suggestions: use wire nuts to put wires together, then use electrical tape if you desire. Just twisting the wires together will eventually lead to the failure of the connection. The wire nuts keep the connection much more secure. Second suggestion: use a Romex connector in the knockout of the round cover. This will help hold the lights in case they fall from the ceiling and make the electrical connection more secure. However, the romex connector may be a little big for the wire used for these lights.

I ordered them too, they're great but just a word of warning on your install. Over time, especially if there's an earthquake, those screws you used right into the drywall will loosen and fail leaving a big mess and maybe injuring you or your kids if they're in the garage. Use some anchors. It is as easy as it can get and MUCH safer. Just a thought.

Just got the 8 Foot lights off Amazon 10 lts for 200.00 .Cant beat for the money and ease of installing, lit up my pole barn like a operating room seriously. I'll never buy a another over priced florescent tube again. Highly recommended.

@@anthonymolfetta3264 I have 30 x 40 with 10' ceiling and used all 10. I also used 2 2" plastic conduit straps over each light to keep from falling out of the somewhat chintzy clips that hold them up. If they pop out of clip they don't hit the ground.

Its going to be extra work, you could measure from the side or front/back with a tape measure. Then use the light as a level. They connect, use the butt connect fitting and some masking tape to make a long level. Just an idea.💡

So I wonder if I could remove the fluorescent bulbs and hardware out of the original fixture then mount the LED lights that you have into the old fixture? This would keep me from doing ceiling repairs plus keep the same look the I have now. I have 8, 4 bulb fixtures.

@@JJBanuelos I guess it would depend on the length of the LED fixture fitting in the Fluorescent fixture. If the LED is just a hair shorter I think it would work.

So many code violations here.. I'm not trying to be mean but you probably shouldn't be showing people how to install lights when you don't know how to yourself. Someone is going to burn their house down. You're stripping the wire way too far. Not using bushings or connectors on the knock outs the cables pass through. And worst of all you didn't even make a reliable connection when you did the switch. Just electrical tape is not acceptable..

Just a side note... a lot of these LED lights are great but they do NOT have the UL stamping on them, thats why you won't see them for sale in the big stores. Just be cautious and if you don't know how to do something like connecting wires to each other or using proper fittings at termination points at least ask a professional to show you how it's done.

We are needing lighting in a small stairwell that has zero head clearance - I think this light could work but we will need to run the wiring from a junction box at the foot of the stairs. Could the wiring be extend? Suggestions?

I usually warn people to not use 50K lamps because of the amount of blue light for their shops. You installed 65K LED's. Hopefully you do not spend much time in your garage. As those are what lighting designers cause glare bombs, the blue light will be getting to your eyes. Too much is known to cause blindness. Investigate this for yourself! Yes blue light is coming from the sun, but your eyes do not close as much looking at the LED's and increases eye damage. Best wishes! Kevin
