I love technology it’s just to bad it’s in the hands of mega corporations that tend to have very ulterior motives when it comes to providing consumers with said technology. Tech Doctor as much as I appreciate your videos I feel like it's getting to a point that we need to just move away from the Amazon fire stick. There's constantly all kind of issues going on. I've already moved away from that and got an android device. When you put these videos about the fire stick it never applies to me anymore and I think your listeners need to just move away and forget Amazon because there's just too many issues with it. Whether they are legitimate or accidents, Amazon is putting the writing on the wall.

no there is not , the firestick is the most affordable for hdr content updated device so far price wise , who cares if you cant install launcher that just uses the small 2gb ram , you can still add icons on main launcher , chromecast is way too expensive with a slower cpu but great 4gb ram , i wouldnt be switching , the mi box s gen 2 is worth checking

I got an android box before my firestick was even 3 months old and there's no comparison. I paid about the same for an x88 pro 10 with 4gb ram (memory) 64gb storage ,upgradable of course plus so much more

I agree, I gave up my firesticks over a year ago. Never again will I buy a stick. I went with nvidia shield and hard wired it with ethernet never had any issues. Firestick is Ideal for those who limit it's use. You get what you pay for.

Yes, I saw this, not only they have the automatic offload, you disable , then they also have it on there individually, so they are Slick. Also they are offloading the the third party apps, they are trying to be slick..

Tech Dr I really appreciate this video. Now I need to turn off the offload. What I really want to know is how on earth Amazon is adding applications to my Firestick. Your Tech doctor app remover doesn't work anymore. Now I'm stuck with apps I don't use and can't delete. All I can do is clear the cache.

No, I saw it and disable it, but they also have for each app, especially third party apps, I had to disable all of them individually.

I think it could be because we turn off all the data monitoring options in our privacy settings, so they can't possibly monitor what apps have been used & when. I prefer to turn off auto upload & manage everything manually.

@TechDoctorUK. Yes, bro, many times over the years I've had Amazon remove and/or disable third-party Apps, which was one of the reasons I gave my Firestick 4K away. When I purchased each of the Firesticks that I owned ... right from the 1st Gen one ... I NEVER agreed to 'rent' it, nor to be told what I could and couldn't install on it. Luckily, for me, I had several Android TV Boxes lying around as a backup. In fact, I purchased the onn 4K box (2nd Gen) via someone that was importing them to the UK and used that instead, but I've recently purchased another Android TV Box (X88 MiNi13 TV) that I use more than I do the onn. box.

Tech doctor they also have the offload for each app you download . Not just where turn it off. You also have to do it for each app, I caught it.

There's also another update that come out recently were Permissions are turned off for apps that haven't been used for a while, which is a pain for some scenarios

I unplugged the firestick and moved on to the onn 4k pro...amazon has been deleting apps or killing funtionality for several months now, including your very own fast task killer which i used regularly. And it's going to get worse once they release their vega os. ...although, I'm curious why it doesn't work on the onn device either...it installs fine but when you run it it doesn't clear anything. Did you abandon it so it no longer works anywhere you install it?

Try after updates on new sticks and highlight an app 3 lines on remote then click app settings on each app then look at the bottom where it's turned on ....make sure you turn it off 📴

Remember this option is only on the newest sticks latest update not cubes or older sticks ...

@dom6121 I have the newest firestick and did notice some of the apps do have "offload" assigned to them. The only option I'm getting once I select offload on those apps is to cancel or confirm. Once you select cancel , it does not remove the "offload" label.

I have to say i disagree about automatic offload, it removes apps all the time even when you're using every day ESPECIALLY 3rd party apps advising folk to keep it is just giving folk unnecessary headaches, strange decision I have to say & uv said absolutely nothing about the browser you recommended being useless right from the off & instead we get this useless video. What's going on with u m8?

I've had it enabled on my FireOS8 device since it was available and not had any issues. Regarding the browser, I still recommend it for Android TV users, however for the users on Firetv devices, I added the 2nd option of "TV Bro". You might have missed my replies to the comments.
