ESP Viper. That's the guitar this is modeled after. And of course... you're right. That one is really based on the Gibson SG... but offset. Every 7 or 8 years it seems.... another company will roll a clone out. There have been a few. Rondo Music even offered one several years ago. I forget what they called it. But it was an offset SG type guitar. I almost bought one. I like this Yellow Racer. I want one... but I got the Westcreek DC model and hated it. The neck is awful. "Widest" guitar neck I think I have ever had. And I'm betting this one is the same. Otherwise... I'd already have it. It looks killer. And would be something very different for me too. Cool vid. Nice playing. Rock on!

Thanks! Someone told me before and I forgot. Yes, WestCreek makes beefy necks. I used to hate fatter necks, but the older Ii get, the more I like them. It's easier to play longer because my hand doesn't get as fatigued gripping more on a skinny neck. I used to think opposite was true. I'm starting to develop arthritis in my "guitar" joints from playing so much. Gettin' old is hell. 🤣🤘

Looks like they routed and strung a left-handed body for right handed. It looks really good.
@bluwng5 ай бұрын
I dont think offset is the correct description it is a reverse SG just like a Hendrix strat. If a left handed person played this and the controls were on the opposite side it would look normal. Reverse guitars reduce access the lower frets which is silly.

@@bluwngHello there! "Offset", refers to the waist of the body being not straight up & down inline. Les Paul's and Strats & Teles have a straight up & down inline waists. The waist of this West Creek is definitely considered "offset" technically. But I get what you're saying.

I have been putting high output pickups in the neck position for a few years now and I really like the different tones they provide. In 2 of my guitars the neck pickup is significantly higher output than the bridge pickup and those guitars sound amazing. I should point out that I use the neck pickup for solos a lot of the time and its nice when you don't lose volume when switching between bridge and neck for a solo. I am ordering one of these soon, they look amazing.

They are really cool guitars. I put Wilkinson pups in this. No more feedback issues. Thanks for watching and commenting! 🤘

@@MotorRoseMusic I'm using a high output Wilkinson humbucker in one of my Strats. They are great pickups. Cheers!

I had your video running but was looking at other tabs and when you started playing I was like, "WHAT is THAT?". I jumped back over to focus my full attention on it. Great tones from that thing and really nice playing there.

Rondo Music used to sell an SG type i believe was the Valkyrie. It was an offset SG. Thomann Harley Benton has an offset SG (slightly), ESP/LTD has an SG like the Valkyrie from Rondo. ESP probably put out their model under their brand or their LTD line first.

Jimmy Hendrix would like it. It isnt offset its inverted. I like it but the inversion is silly the lower hirn requires more access to the lower registers and this design is the opposite.

I have to ask, is the neck pup still microphonic? You mentioned that it was so loose in the first video with this guitar, and maybe that could have been the reason it was microphonic.
@MotorRoseMusic5 ай бұрын
No, oddly enough it wasn't afterwards. I did tighten the neck pup; perhaps that did the trick. I did, however, put new Wilkinson's in it and I think it sounds great! I also replaced the tuners with Wilkinson's. I will do a video soon. I've had some "life" things happen that have prevented recording, but I will do some soon! Thanks for watching and asking about this.

A little bit, but not as bad. I don't really notice because I don't usually let go of the neck. It's a light guitar, so it's not fatiguing in any way. Thanks for the comment and for watching!
