Amazon says Sparrow will free up employees to focus on other things. Like delivering packages for 16 hours straight while peeing in a bottle and no food or drink breaks. To resolve that, Amazon is thinking about equipping the vans with a Sparrow, so it can pick up the driver once it passes out due to exhaustion and dehydration, and shove it back inside the van, until another van can takes its place...

It's not a job humans should need to do, but humans are currently doing it, so the change is going to cause pain as people have to find new jobs. Though, Amazon could also treat their employees less like machines instead, and make the work less body-destroying.

Which is why Amazon and other companies alike are going to implement robots for those repetitive tasks. No human should want to do these mind numbingly boring, repetitive, and physical jobs. If this requires us to find new jobs, then bring it. Here's to more interesting careers to do.

Absolutely. Human labour is faster and more effective for the 2 day and same-day shipping... but the problem arises when you expect humans to preform with as little maintenance as robots require. Amazon needs to push back their delivery quotas.

The more jobs that are replaced by robotics and A.I. the less population that can surely survive. So many ways how it could be used against the people that made them and the companies. Leaders should lead but remember they're servants of the people. Although it could help human kind expand if used for the right reasons.

I think its a good thing. Humans are much more capable than working on easy repetitive tasks. More and more countries are becoming developed nations rather than staying 3rd world countries. People do have valid concerns about low skilled labor being replaced by robots, but that low skilled labor needs programs to transition them to high skilled labor. Trade school, internships, higher education, etc. should be the the minimum standard in todays age. There is so many available low wage jobs that there is not enough people to fill them in the US. Low wage jobs just aren't as attractive and don't pay the bills anymore. Its only a matter of when the low wage labor will be replaced. The best thing we can do is create the transition programs to higher skilled labor in advance.
