Yet speed is not everything! I would rather see slower but using fewer resources. If Could place an order from bulk and set what price I'm willing to pay for an Item till x date, or multiple items at a lower price. If could rather choose a sustainable shipping option I would do so. Unfortunately, we haven't built a uniform high capacity, efficient electric railway system all across Eurasia and Africa. That would be a pretty cool 100-year utopian plan :). No retail packaging, descriptions are on the websites anyway, no need for printed manuals if not requested for an extra cost. Reusable and actually reused for its primary purpose, lightweight, durable packaging could help reduce necessary shipping volume and weight. Products themselves should be sustainable.

From 1st July 2021, the EU has introduced a fee for goods entering from China, of about 25 euro or so (30USD), hence this is impacting a lot on AliExpress deliveries. Now that cannot be the case anymore.

This is a lie. The EU just imposed a Value Added Tax (VAT) on goods bought from E-Commerce entering the EU. For small items under $22 Euro, this does not apply. The VAT is like a sales tax but it is applied every step of the way then summed up. For example, there is a factory smelting iron, VAT is applied to the cost of energy, then the iron, then the tools. It isn't a flat fee like what was stated above.

Amazon has advantages in the last mile shipping and localization, while Aliexpress has advantages over prices and goods options. And therefore Amazon will still be the best e-seller in local brands and foods, and Aliexpress, to many DIYers, will be the dream grocery stores for those hard-to-find parts. As many people already mentioned, however, lots of Amazon's 3rd party sellers actually import their goods from Aliexpress, which proves that they are not just competitors but also friends.still a

The last mile will be solved via robots if they can solve the problem of people not being home for the delivery and awkward size packages. Amazon has a serious problem now with faulty deliveries made by people who are more worried about speed than accuracy.
@snoopybro15123 жыл бұрын
Too many variables to automate last mile shipping. Sounds simple in concept. But once you delve into the details and the various circumstances that can be encountered approaching different homes, you realize a robot can’t do it. You would have to individualize each robots route. As each one would encounter different roads, homes, apartments, and there various styles, driveways, sidewalks, etc. The most difficult being apartments, condominiums etc. Because these never follow an easy ground plan. They vary wildly. Then you would have to account for difficult weather. Rain, snow, heat, ice, wind etc. a machine in a factory or wear-house doesn’t have to worry about this. Now that it’s outside on a daily route, it has to account for it. Maintenance would also be comparably high for its usage and route difficulty. Then you would also have to take into account theft. How easy would it be to intercept and rob your machine? Once you really think about it. Automating last mile shipping is very difficult. And probably not worth the trouble
