Great video. I watched the video this morning and interviewed with the AWS hiring manager and peer this afternoon. I asked the hiring manager about the "traits" for success in the role at the end of the interview, and he gave me three leadership principles and one nonprinciple. I asked my peer why he joined the team and he got a little emotional as to his three years there. To close, I reviewed the three traits and other skill and briefly used examples from our conversation to address each. For example, for Think Big, "we discussed how I turned a 3M opportunity into a 46M PO" and so on for each. It seemed to tie up the one hour conversation well. I guess I will find out in a couple of days.

GG, i have watched about 80 percent of all your videos to prep for my interview few weeks ago, and I have inclined for that interview. It was a complete disaster imo , the interviewer was even trying to calm me down and try to help me out too. however, imo it was a level 3 role so it had some leeway. I think I answered 2 question perfectly and the rest I just answered them on the fly. However, most of the questions on most of your videos are for like level 4 and higher. To me I have prepared for the wrong questions because they were not asked on my level 3 interview. some of my questions was : tell me a time when you gotten feedback from your co-workers or your bosses in job. the next question was tell me a time when you gave feedback to your co-workers and bosses. Well I knew how to answered these because That video i watched which was so great wanted me to see how i will behave so they know how I Will act on the future. So i used the S T A R method and answered them to my advance :D. Anyhow, the best way to answer or prepare these questions is to study the 14 " " 15(hidden) leadership principles and apply that to your answers to demonstrate you are a leader and can lead the team. GG , to me if you can I think it will be best if you can just make separate videos on how will a Level 3 PA interview will go Level 3 Yard Marshal interview will go Level 4-5 Area manager interview will go Level 5-6 Op manger interview will go. because later on the line i think I will need to come across those but I literally can not find any videos targeting them specifically. I do not know if by design or amazon policy but when i was preparing for my level 3 interview , I could not find any interview for my role on youtube. Anyhow, Thanks GG for the wonder informative videos, I really liked the video that tells the hidden leadership principle and the video that teaches about how amazon uses the interview to see WHAT YOU Did in the past instead of what you will do. really helped understand the whole logic of it all. And also that the first question is an icebreaker and I can just talk about anything and it didnt really matter. and also, how the interviewer is typing .. and not to worry about the long pause cause he/she is typing. LOL
@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone5033 жыл бұрын
Hi there- so I don't cover any specific questions in any of my videos on KZbin. Both of the questions you reference are Earn Trust questions, these questions you note could be asked of any level. All interviews in Amazon will follow broadly the same structure. Differences will come in 1) any technical competencies needed to be covered in that role 2) the whims of the specific interviewer. I'm working on gathering a collection of 1:2:1 interviews from Amazonians in different roles. There are however thousands of roles in Amazon, so I'm unlikely to get to all of them. Good luck with your result.

9:03 - 9:15 Guess there is a such thing as being TOO blunt. 😁 But I'm inclined to think that would have been cheating to ask. 😉 10:34 - 10:48 I can relate to this part of the *Dive Deep* concept. I just like to be prepared or don't like the feeling of not knowing what comes next. I think preparation is a strong key to have for many things and (sort of my) sense of comfort. I tend to stay aware of taking (pre)caution of not diving in too deep🤿 where I'd drown; only just necessarily deep enough where I can “see”🥽 or *Learn and Be Curious* (P.S. I like your segue 11:31 - 11:45). 15:48 - 16:48 If the team's leadership principles are not in sync, I would be sensing some *Disagree and Commits* into how they work or function together; not to mention paying attention to those that may display a *Backbone* . 18:31 I am not familiar with the time vely unless it's a slang geared more towards introverts?

SO... I had an interview for a leadership role in 2020 and the interview went well and I was inclined but I did not get the role... the manager that did my interview told my manager that the way I asked my question at the end of the interview implied that the area managers did not do their job. My question was "What is being done to try an encourage people, who are scared of covid, to come to work." His response was it is our job as AMs to make amazon a place people want to come to work... There are a lot of tutorials and guidelines about how to get through Amazon interviews and assessments, their culture .. so whats the point .. candidates will go to enterviews all with the same behavior knowing what they like to hear.. just a thought.
@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone5032 ай бұрын
Following that logic, everyone that gets a first interview would get hired but that’s not the case. So either there’s plenty of insight that isn’t out there and/or plenty of people aren’t very good at using the info they find and/or their actual experience of the past doesn’t meet the requirements

Help! I am scheduled for an Amazon loop interview in a few days. This is the second time I have gone through the loop. The first time, I was offered the role. I tried negotiating my salary, they wouldn't budge, I still accepted the role. However, when I gave my resignation to my current employer they made it impossible for me to leave for that role so I then withdrew my acceptance well in advance of my expected start date. The hiring manager from the last time is one of the interviewers this time around. Should I be feeling like the deck is stacked against me now? I'm feeling a bit deflated now since I got my interview itinerary this morning.
@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone5036 ай бұрын
Why would the deck be stacked against you? It makes no sense for anyone to hold a grudge.
@frankcanini6 ай бұрын
@@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone503 Because she was the hiring manager the last time and I almost feel like I burned her after accepting the role and then withdrawing a few days later. I really did want the job, but my current employer made it impossible for me to leave for that role. The role was a step back for me professionally (L5) but would have been a nice pay increase over what I was making. My current employer threw even more money at me to hopefully retain me so I stayed. The role I am now interviewing for is an L6, a step up in terms of carer progression, and will pay significantly more so it's a better fit than the previous role. She is also the current hiring manager's counterpart and I'm actually dreading the awkwardness of meeting with her again. I know it's going to be awkward.

some people are not great at interviews even though they are talented, have great professional skills, and experienced. Sometimes they fair poorly, but that does not mean they do not have what it takes to be successful for the role, so the the best way to find out is to gauge the candidate's aptitude, and desire to work and prove they can live up to the expectations and even exceed them. Given a chance for a month or 2 they can prove what they can achieve and accomplish. So hire them on probation for 2 months and if they don't prove what they claim they are please let them go. Fair enough ...for both interviewer and interviewee???
@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone5032 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t do that as a leader- the likely failure rate is high and the resource drain on the existing team of trying to onboard and train someone to have them exit 2 months later would be unsustainable. Although the traditional model of interviews does risk missing good candidates, that risk is acceptable to companies when weighed against the high cost of failure for other models such as this. From your perspective I’d recommend practice, practice, practice. Good interview technique is a skill that can be taught and practiced.

I help by producing hours of free actionable content that people have used and gotten jobs. Thousands of people haven’t given me a penny/dime/peso/yen/cent etc and gotten a job based only on this KZbin channel. I’m not “hiding” anything. I just don’t hook people in with vague high level information then slap them around the face with a sales pitch in order to get actionable information. If you want someone who’ll give you half the information than slam you with a sales pitch for the rest, you’re on the wrong channel.

Hi GG, quick question. Do they tell you if you are going into the loop? As in, for example, you have done one or two interviews and they schedule a third, are they supposed to tell you if the next interview is already part of the loop? Thank you! Your content is super helpful
@amazoninterviewwhizzdayone5033 жыл бұрын
I'd expect your recruiter to explain what is happening in your process. Loop is a series of interviews in close succession so it would be very strange to just schedule one. But that said it would also be strange to have a 3rd early round before loop. You should ask your recruiter for clarification.
