Langer’s problem as coach is that he played in a team where Australia dominated. He didn’t have to change and go through a low time like this team and Allan Borders team. The 80’s team was terrible but they changed the whole Australian test culture and became the best team in the world.

The problem with Australia is that their peak period from 1990- 2010 is gone and when they are coming low they can't digest it. Earlier they used to have batting pitches mostly made 500 runs on the board and then get the opposition out and no offense to their batting, they have great batsman, but they need to understand the wicket they are preparing now are helping fast bowlers and run making is difficult. So much evidence in this clip about why he wasn't suited to the job. He "welcomes the feedback" then when it comes, his eyes turn into saucers and an aggressive "righto, whatever" is the response. Then the response to the media. Sure it's intrusive and it is a difficult task for him and the team to manage the commitments. But Langer's response is dramatise it as if it is all out of control. Makes for good story telling and good TV but he clearly let it get to him and this will show to the team. He deserves credit for giving it his all in the wake of the sandpaper debacle. He also deserves his legendary status in the game but definitely doesn't deserve an ongoing role in a job he is not suited to because of it .

I know I will never know what criticism will feel like for an elite sportsman/athlete...... but I can't help feeling thatthe modern player is too hooked up about noise/criticism/media/papers etc etc.... dude at the highest level you'd expect everyone to be mature enough to know to not even go near those. True now media and scrutiny is more than it has ever been... so stay away from it! Look at Virat Kohli. He said when he stopped reading comments and checking everything on social media post his wife's advise his game went to another level. Shane Warne in the 2005 Ashes went through so much but that motivated him to perform even better to shut everyone up. And lets not pretend that one can keep reading bad stuff about oneself in the media and say it won't have an effect on you.... it ultimately will. Unfortunately the modern player cannot stay away from all that coz there are so many brand endorsements and what not

Whatever Amazon try to record or show, as a kid who saw winning Border Gavaskar trophy in Australia is next to impossible, I am amazed that India had repeated this miracle twice in last 5 years. This was never imaginable to my mind. This shows despite India lacking big batting names in the squad they play as a Team, whereas Australia the exact opposite of that.
