the warmaidens have 15 more armor than korynites and andromachoi. while the only difference in armor is that almost all warmaidens don't have helmets but the other two units a majority has helmets

Yeah the comparison between warmaidens at 3:21 and daughters of ares at 4:32 is pretty clear. Quilt/leather vest, no helmet = 70 armor. Metal breastplate, metal helmet = 35 armor. I don't know if shield supposed to be part of armor like it was in medieval 2, but I always imagined that it translated to melee defense in the newer games. It's a bit nit picky, but the values are odd.

@@padmad3832 Yeah that's super weird. Perhaps the warmaiden armour is represented by the shield? The Daughters don't have a shield. I mean, there is the shield icon modifier but all that does in a game sense is block arrows. Realistically it would also be used to defend yourself in melee.

As much as I think I'll like this DLC, its very strange that they are going so mythical with the Amazons considering that we KNOW the "truth behind the myth" when it comes to Amazons. The myth was almost certainly inspired by Greeks encountering camps of scythian women after their men had gone to war or to hunt, so they learned to fight in order to protect themselves. Seems like they should have worked this into the DLC's narrative, like my having part of the backstory of Themyscera being that most of their men had been killed by the Achaeans, leaving their forces mostly women.

The units that are locked off to Penthesilea are pretty damn dire. Having basically no frontline is such a huge detriment when how you obtain higher tier units is ranking them up. Sure she gets more cav but that doesn't really make up for it. And she's a Horde. It's such a shame because I'd rather have her as my lord but alas, Hippolyta's faction is the one that actually looks fun to play.

ALso it would make more sense for a tribe to have both men and women in the army rather than just women as one of the big advantages of having women fight is that you can double your fighting numbers, if you only use women then it kind of defeats the whole purpose

I think in totalwar games when a unit has bonus vs large it should also have bonus vs infantry, bcs if you can kill large unit with your weapon you can also kill a mere infantry

Not really. From a game design perspective, thats nonsense, (why have all that unit variety if unit x is anti everything) and from a realistic perspective, anti-large means long reach (spear, no dachi, ...) while anti inf usually means rather short.

@@hausser0815 think about a normal light cavalry, they are not anti anything, but an anti large cavalry would be that same cavalry but with long weapons resulting in bonus vs large, but that cavalry would still be as effective as normal cavalry vs infantry, it should be anyways. "Truth behind the myth" is not an attempt at realism, as the half-naked, inhumanly strong minotaur shows, and that's why the Amazons as depicted in the game follow that same philosophy: they are a tribe of warrior women, Truth behind the Myth doesn't have to change as much about them because they're not monsters, just chicks.
