The real answer to all these questions is that UK lost access to European Markets through Brexit. UK cannot sign free-trade deal with USA. And UK now lost access to Russian fishing waters where cod for fish-and-chips comes from. And all these losses are self inflicted. In the meantime, Russia has become number one economy in Europe. Russia's economy is growing fast. And Russia already has new customers and new markets for its cod, oil, and aerospace. UK also lost access to Russian Space Agency which cancelled UK's launches of One Web satellites. And what did UK get out of all this?

The main thing you're missing is that Ukraine was not intended to be in NATO from its very inception. BTW, many of the people who happened to be living inside the boarders of what ended up being part of Ukraine never had any intention of becoming citizens of some country called Ukraine. They had been living on that land for generations AS RUSSIANS. They had no intention for that to change. If Ukraine was to be a successful entity, its government needed to have taken that into account. Not unlike what Canada did with respect to Quebec (can you imagine how it would look now if some hotheads in Ottawa had said 'speak english or go back to France'?). However the country called Ukraine became the victim of the extremists from the western galician part, a very different animal than everything including Kiev and east of it. Most people who spew rhetoric about the situation have no clue about the actual real dynamics of the region. And there has been a lot of propaganda and brainwashing even inside Ukraine itself by those who grabbed power illegally in 2014. If you want to survive as a nation don't become the victim of a coup that ostracizes half your population. Simple. Don't become blinded by hatred, or this is what happens. Canadians managed to avoid it, the ukrainian nationalist extremists did not.

@@comment6864 I am not "most people". I speak Russian and lived in Russia. I used to buy most of what you're saying until I engaged more and more with Russians. You also oversimplify everything, the way you claim others do. I will get into more detail later (a bit busy now), but the attitude of many Russians- by no means all - ranges from mildly bigoted towards former Soviet republics to downright genocidal. Russians swayed me. Not Western media.
@comment68644 ай бұрын
@@markheithaus Don't bother telling me about Russia, i'm not talking about Russia, i'm talking about Ukraine. The challenge was strictly to Ukraine, to its government, not up to Russia and nothing to do with Russia. Just like Canada's issues with Quebec had nothing to do with France. The current regime in Kiev failed the test of keeping the country united, time for everyone to face that fact. Incidentally other governments might also soon fail to have kept their countries united. We may have an interesting century ahead of us full of changes nobody can even imagine now. Just like once in Russia nobody in their worst nightmares could have imagined what the bolshevik revolution might bring. Things like this do happen even to the greatest countries. Not even talking of Russia or Ukraine in this case. Everyone should start paying more attention to what's going on inside their own boarders. Russia has the least worries there at this time - it is quite united right now. Unlike many other countries right now.

a good interviewer usually quickly picks up on what the main and deeper essence of an answer is, restates it if necessary and then on the basis of that answer moves on and takes the conversation up a notch to the next level of detail. in other words assumes some level of intelligence on the part of the audience. this reporter managed to do the opposite - ignore the answer, ask an even more primitive question and insult the intelligence of the viewer progressively more and more. The only benefit of the doubt I could give her is that maybe she was playing devils advocate?? but somehow I doubt it. She needs to take some lessons from Diana Panchenko on effective interviewing technique
