Ambassador was a good car for kerala urban&rural roads,including highways.The main reason is more ground clearance.Its suspension system front and rear are easily maintainable comparing new gen cars.After 1992 HM make front and rear suspension with good quality silent block bushes which is more durable with ordinary bushes.Company fitted vaccum assisted front disc brake ,large size rear drum brakes cones on the last models more brake efficient when compare with old ambys .IZUZU engine with 5speed syngermesh gear box is morelasting and durable with oldest generation morris technology 4 speed constant mesh gear box.Door locks outer handles comes on the last models are not durable with old type lock handles.stepney tyre fitment good.To get more riding pleasure and driving controll using 185/65/15 size radial tyre instead 165/80/15 size radials. Izuzu 2000 is not CRDI engine ,hence engine maintenance least when compare with CRDI engine.The main drawback of Amby is premature rusting(Locally known Patch work).Certain amount it can eleminate by fillin small amount engine oil to the hollow body structure of the vehicle by drilling holes to the hollow body portion.Four door inners applying limited qty engine oil periodically.Outer portion are painting periodically. I had maintained an Ambassador Car since 1979 to 2009.In my opinion it is a good car affordable maintenance.

Modern cars are actually more maintenance free . In any modern crdi engines you need not touch the engine until 1 lakh kms , then you have tl replace the timing chain . Ambassadors are troublesome cars . Most people just like it now due to nostalgia .

@@arjunjmenon CRDI trouble free engine supplied by Toyotas only. All other CRDI engines problamatic..... Certain cars continetal make injector complaint.... Certain cars bosch make High pressure pump complaintless than 1lakhs kms ruuning. Certain cars ECM complaint Certain cars turbo complaint Most of cars Catalytic converter or DPF (Diesele Particle filter )chocked up to 1 lakh Kms EGR chocking with carbon deposit is the main problem of diesel crdi vehicles..... cost of injector per pieces ranges fromm 16000 to 30000 Cost of high pressure pump ranges from 32000 to 1lakh Turbo failure is the main nuissance of CRDI engine.. cost ranges from 34000 to 130000...... Any way it is highly expensive engineering compare with ordinary diesel engine except Toyota D4D engine....

@@mohammedshaji9785 all these parts are covered under warranty, in extended warranty upto 6 years . Maruti suzuki fiat 1.3 multijet , hyundais diesels , nissan Renault's 1.5 are excellent engines . Can easily go to 2 lakh kms . Modern engineering has tolerances of less than one tenth of a mm !! Egr should be cleaned at 80000 for most cars . Costs around 2500 rs . Injectors has to be cleaned at 80000 to 1 lakh , cost around 500 per injector . People dont do this ,thats why injector gets clogged . Injector can be repaired at tvs , no need to replace. Only those who skip it gets the egr blocked . Dpf is just introduced in bs6 only , lets see how jt holds up .

@@arjunjmenon Tvs service d the injector only for Delphi fuel systems.Continental make fuel systems supplied for polo and first gen Figo and fiesta the injector ti that vehicle cant be repaired.The extended waaranty is only for Six years or 100000Kms whichever comes earlier.The costumer have to pay an additional amount to avail the extended warrany. Premium cars like Merc,BM &Audi a package scheme lumpsun amount Rs 3 lakhs and above advance pay to achieve the whole repair work up to 1lakhs Kms.After 1 lakhs Kms no manufacuter give an additional package.. 😊😊😊😊😊😊

@@mohammedshaji9785 first gen fiesta and figo hasmd bad injectors ,I agree .they have changed those. Bosch injectors can also be repaired . Premium cars need 3 lakh extended warranty packages but those who buy 60-80 lakh cars don't care about it. It is just like spending 30000 on a 9 lakh car. Modern cars are much much reliant than older cars . Quality control had increased so much ,due to ability to check measurements to one tenth of a mm .mettalurgy has changed so much . Have you ever heard of a modern car overheating? It was very common in ambassadors . Then see the body , an ambassador body would rust fast . A modern car will not rust for atleast 15 years

We have 98 model still in top notch condition. It was a 4 speed gear and we modified it's gear box to 5 speed gear box. Running super fine till this date. Crossed more than 2,00,000 kms

2005 മുൻപുള്ള എഞ്ചിൻ സൂപ്പർ ആണ്‌. അതിന് ശേഷമുള്ളവയ്ക്ക് Pickup കുറവായി തോന്നിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. എഞ്ചിൻ ഒരു പൊടിക്ക്‌ heavy ആണ്. സാധാരണ കാറുകൾ ഓടിക്കുന്നവർക്ക്‌ വഴങ്ങാൻ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടാണ്. Highway driving-l പുലിയാണ്.
