What I liked about Amber is that she wasn't outright evil. Maybe just a little obnoxious with a tad lack of self-awareness but overall she seemed like she could be a cool person.

i don't understand, were she friends with Cher and Dionne or frenemies? she seems kinda shady it never made sense to me or maybe I misread the first scene in the classroom during Cher's speech

Amber is frenemies with Cheri ever since in grade school. She can be rivalry to Cheri or friends with her if she want to (it a on or off). Dionne is really not friends with Amber but only cool with hanging around her when Cheri there (well majority of time she throw a fuss when Amber try to hang out). You can watch the Clueless TV Series for free on KZbin Amber even lie to her parents that ever since grade school Cheri is her best friend (they still believe that sadly) In the series Amber have a habit of liking fav things what other ppl like but she hate it when ppl does so she pretend to hate it. For instance she love her favorite show Cruella or her favorite concerts ( Cheri also like it too they surprisingly have things in common to like) and then Amber quickly switch to despite it. They both from the same social circle
