Check out Gold Star Pretty Good Lorcana tournament- had 117 players, judges and personnel who actually worked multiple DLC’s and was streamed by Ed Shiu, one of West Coast’s best players. Tons of Red Blue on the top tables. Top prize was a booster box from each of the six sets and a trophy.

As a brand new player, the fact that aggro works to win some games makes it have less barrier to entry. There are aggro decks for every color combo (within reason) it feels. I started amber amethyst and I’m leaning amber steel, which means I’m learning interactions within multiple colors over time without getting overwhelmed by what the opponent is doing. I think once I understand more of the cards and interactions I’ll get away from it, and I totally understand not wanting this to be taking down tournaments. It is very fun that it can be competitive though.

This is a good point. In order to bring in new players there should be simple to understand decks that can do well for sure. The issue is when the aggro decks are too good that even seasoned players like DeCandio is able to win big tournaments with it because the of how oppressive the aggro decks are. For example, when you watch live matches you can tell that the non aggro decks are always fishing for answers to the readied threats or they lose, there isn’t much of any interaction on the opposing players side.

I think Amber/Steel needs to get hit with some bans/limits because it truly is broken. Every simulation I try against it always ends up cleaning my board in an instant and I shouldn't have to make a deck just to counter it just to play the game

Removal based on ink cost of cards to not punish weaker high card costs (like how Brawl completely killed Perdita).
