I've got the cheapo version from Wish (I didn't even klnow there was an actual brand until today!) and I find that the stick that goes up the middle of the waveformers to bring your hair through isn't that strong and sometimes comes apart as I'm pulling my hair through. I don't have coarse hair and it's quite fine, but long (I'm talking near the bottom of my back long) and poker-straight naturally. You hair is a lot thicker than mine but you didn't seem to have a problem. Did the wand come apart at all when you pulled your hair through? And thanks! Great video! :)

as a hairstylist who has worked with all hair textures, i can tell you one major reason they come out the way they do on your hair is that you already have curly textured hair, for "European" texture (finer straighter hair) the hair would fall (curls would add volume but also the weight would pull the hair down) thanks to gravity and the effect would be much looser as straight fine hair doesn't hold a curl/wave the same way. It would be interesting see the results on different textures of hair with different styling products (setting lotion, mousse, curl enhancers etc). i have tried using small perm rods on my hair and have sat under the dryer in hopes of having a tight curly look, it works for about 20 minutes and the curls just drop, my hair is very fine and straight.

I agree with you. I have the original curlformers. Enough for waist length thick hair. On my daughter that has tons of perfectly straight fine hair the curlformers made amazing curls. The second day she had amazing waves. On my daughter with thick straight hair it made her hair wavy with curls on the ends. On my thick, slightly wavy, (2a at the most), but graying hair they did not dry overnight the first time. So I waited until my hair was only slightly damp the second time and it didn't work. Fortunately curling irons work and stay on me. I will say, that for hard to curl, straight hair they work really well and last all day.. I have not tried any waveformer type products, because my hair is basically just shy of what they would do anyway. You put way more hair in each section than we were able to do.

Those ringlets look absolutely adorable, but it's pretty shitty for the company to not have tested their product on all hair types and selling too few "wave" formers, it's far better to have one or two too many than not enough.

I don't understand how this is new. I'm 22 and my mom has been using these things on my hair since elementary school. 😕

Yeah, they definitely didn't invent the product but are selling a version under a copyrighted name. 🤷🏽♀️

Queen DMC It’s not even that. It’s literally the exact same product they’ve already been selling....for years..this was so stupid..

You say elementary school which tells me you live in America, Amber lives in Europe like I do and while these products may have been available to you other there for years, it hasn't been available to us over here. LOL maybe think about that. SMH

@@ClassyGyal I dont see how you took this as a negative comment, I was reffering to the company calling it a new product, not Amber. Check yourself before you step to someone next time. It'll keep you from making an ass of yourself.

I just scored a bunch of "curl-forming hair products" on AliExpress. Cheap AF, and available in different lengths. I mean, original products are nice, but if there is something similar that works just as great (if not better) than why not go for it? My profile pic on here was after I had just used that product. Also, it's best if your let them air dry. One of the perks of using these types of products is to avoid the heat damage on your hair that would normally come from heat-curling hair and styling. I’ve tried putting my hair up in a ponytail and putting the curlers on just that hair (blowout, using curling mousse), leaving it on for a few hours and then taking it out. You can leave the hair in a ponytail (looks super cute) or you can take it down and it gives you the more relaxed waves (since the curls will be at the end of the hair and not starting at the roots).

I liked the results you got with the counterfeit ones better. The S shape made wavier waves. Plus they looked more comfortable to sleep in, and they were cheaper.
