I remember the same thing happening with Briar. People thought she was weak when she came out (she was a fricking beast) cause her winrate was low. Then they buffed her and she became one of the most op champs in the game. Ambessa is not an easy champ, buffing her now would be a pretty bad idea.

More like Yone ult 0.5. Longer cooldown, significantly smaller hitbox, no AOE, less damage, less CC, in exchange for like 25% more range. Of course, the passive gives armor pen and lifesteal makes it far stronger than just that, but the ult itself is pretty meh while Yone's ult is insanely good.

Ambessa is a high mechanical skill champion, but she is so overtuned that it doesn't require a lot of skill to do well with her. I feel like Ambessa is a marketing strategy at this point - designed to be controversial, overtuned and broken. She caused chaos and discussion in League's community but just beacuse she is related to Arcane she makes us intrested more in the character. She will be nerfed soon, but not too much. After they are finished with releasing 2nd season of Arcane, she wlll be hit so hard that she will become basically umplayable. Kalista treatment is on the way, a nightmare of a champion to balance - but Riot asked for it. They learned their lesson after K'sante but there was money on the line, so you know. There's a reason why she got released after Worlds.

This proves three things: 1. Baus has been held back by Sion for years and still was better than everyone else who just played meta 200 years champions. 2. "High skill" is not that high skill since it takes a player 10 games to become competent at the champion and it doesn't warrant allocating more power because of it. 3. All other players are boosted by their champions and would be lower without them: Gwen, Camille, Riven, GP, Yasuo, Yone, Aurora, Akali mains, all boosted by champion picks
