I think her relationship reflect Jinx and Silco perfectly Mel fully (at least in her mind) rejected the teachings of her mother, while Jinx embraced Silcos words. Both of them were trying to teach their child to embrace cruelty in order to survive And in that same way I think they both genuinely loved their daughters, but unlike Silco, Ambessa could see how "undoing a daughter" could be and was prepared to push her away in order to maintain order

I always think of how sick it is that Ambessa’s father made her plunder war torn corpses, but likely thought it was necessary just like she grew to believe as well. Bc Mel rejects her mother’s cycle there’s hope for a new one to be made. Jinx accepting Silco’s cycle is destroying everything in her life :,)

I don't think Noxians have a problem with women; as clearly Medarda is a woman, and the guard is her inferior, but it's highly possible that they look down on softness, tenderness, and the state of being blemish free or "unblooded" as signs of weakness (traits that are traditionally considered "feminine"). While Arcane is a relatively progressive form of media, they depict social/gender/class dynamics in a myriad of realistic and grounded ways, both in all its idealism, and its flaws. I mean, just to kind of shoot your point down, right off the bat, Vi's most common form of banter with Caitlyn is to call her soft, referring to her as "cupcake".So when the show depicts this big burly dude laughing at this twink-like figure, it's not like they're congratulating the big guard for punching down at what he presumes to be this "weak" courtesan, but it's a pretty dang realistic reaction for someone of his philosophy and stature to laugh at the misfortune of some guy who looks decidedly "unwarrior-like". I think you got needlessly over reactive regarding what's essentially a piece of media that prizes itself on realistic social dynamics; and the reality of social dynamics that they're portraying here is that social dynamics can often be unjust or imbalanced, especially in a world where violence and force are more-or-less normalized modes of conflict resolution. I mean, the dude is basically a courtesan being used by a 6'5" 300lb warqueen. Realistically speaking, he has VERY little autonomy about how she uses him, and there's a very good chance his services are not offered always so willingly, but rather begrudgingly to the highest bidder.
