Ambient Drone - Mother-32, Maths, Disting Mk4 - Modular Music

My first patch. Playing around with a simple ambient drone.
Tonal changes courtesy of the the Moog Mother-32. Disting mk4 running in OSC w/ waveshape mode providing the grit and bass frequencies. Maths modulates the wave shape.
All of this is fed into the Allen & Heath ZEDi10 mixer and routed to Ableton Live 9. Reverb is provided by Valhalla Room, created by Valhalla DSP in Seattle, WA.

Beautiful work, subscribed! I didn't quite follow the description -- is the Mother 32 acting as a voice, or only to modulate the Disting's frequency? Is the Disting producing more than one voice here?

Thank you! Sorry for the late reply. I made this quite awhile ago so details are a bit fuzzy, however both mother and disting are distinct voices. Each voice is stacked and the 1v/oct of the mother is mult'd to the disting.

hi im currently looking for similar setup and especially sounds, but was rather thinking about lifeforms sv-1 as it seems more rich than mother32? of course nevermind sequencing etc. what would you suggest? im kinda newb. great drone and aesthethics of video btw. nice!

hey, I dont have much experience with the sv-1, but since you're a beginner I suggest choosing the machine that you are most attracted to. I think you'll get a similar experience with either the moog or the pitts. Choose which ever is more aesthetically pleasing to you - ergonomics and appearance can really affect the way you patch and your creativity :) goodluck!

I got a Mother my self and about to get Maths. But first I will get Mordax Data. I got a 84 HP low cost case on discount but do not expect to fill it up anytime soon. In five years maybe.. This is also inspirational for me to see and hear, and hope to hear more of your work.

It makes me happy to hear your kind comments! I too feel like it will be a long while until I fill up my cases. But I recently tried a DIY project and it was easy and a cost effective way to get more modules in the setup :)

True. But also I want to get to know the modules I buy, and how they can relate to my other gear before I get more. Also I'm really crap at soldering but will probably try to make some simple modules or DIY pedals.
