Freedom at Midnight is a Sony Liv original Web series directed by Nikkhil Advani. It starts Siddhant Gupta as Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Chirag Vohra as Mahatma Gandhi, Arif Zakriya as Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Rajendra Chawla as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The series has VJ Mallishka playing Sarojini Naidu. The series is now streaming on Sony Liv.
This conversation is in English and Hindi. The series based on a book Freedom at Midnight written by Dominique LaPierre and Larry Collins. It covers history from the 1947 to 1948. It includes the series of events including the arrival of Lord Mountbatten, to the conflicts and the Partition of India, Indian Independence and the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi.
In this video we talk about the idea behind the series, the scripting, the filming and the process of approaching these monumental characters for each of the artists.
