Beautifully presented video! ❤ Kudos to Afiya for explaining disorders in simple, easy-to-understand language. The flow of the content and delivery made it very engaging.. A heartfelt thank you to Dhanya for creating such impactful awareness.. As a psychologist, I strongly believe that initiatives like these play a crucial role in breaking the stigma around mental health and encouraging people to seek professional help when needed..❤

Childhood trauma -> low self esteem -> coping mechanism ends up in NPD. How can schools identify this and prevent this on priority? If Dhanya can initiate a discussion with Education minister, that will be awesome 😊❤. Basically to get an emotional index as part of childs emotional evaluation schemes. We shoud promote these schemes more than pushing for ranks or grades in schools.

As Afiya mentioned Personality Disorders are diagnosed after 18..but schools can certainly impart psychology lessons

NPD can be caused due to excessive pampering in childhood too. It kindles a kind of superiority complex and feeling that the whole world revolves around them.

Hi Dhanya, thanks for the video. Thanks to social media, more such videos are required to bring awareness regarding such disorders, which were normalised earlier, as just "difficult" people, and required our "adjustment" while living with them. Having been associated with such disordered people from childhood through adulthood, I can perfectly align with what is being explained by Afiya.

Good to know.....best takeaway is that a lot of misunderstanding/conflict can be avoided if people can be slotted into a personality disorder....😅. I guess lot of us could be "boarder line" & get corrected by self analysis.....great subject to bring it out in the open.

One question about anxious avoidant traits - if they see that the decision made for them, like which course they should take for instance, ends up being unsuitable for their life, do they blame the person who advised to take that particular decision? Also how is GAD different from anxious avoidant or other anxiety disorders?

Thanks for these insightful sessions Dhanya. I have a question. How can individuals effectively set boundaries or consider going no contact with narcissistic in-laws, especially in cultures where family ties are heavily prioritized and breaking those ties is viewed as unacceptable?
@iamwithdhanyavarmaКүн бұрын
Very valid question will take it up when we address each of this personality disorder specifically
@hlh-46Күн бұрын
@@iamwithdhanyavarma Thank you so much for addressing my question, Dhanya. You’re doing an excellent job spreading awareness about mental health. Going no contact is often seen as a punishment, but in reality, it is the opposite. It’s the last resort in protecting our mental well-being when nothing else works.
Can you pls bring covert narcissism in an episode.

Why are you so upset if she calls her Doctor or not? As a doctor, I can say, we don’t need to be reminded about our position or need special respect by calling ‘Dr.’ Actions speak louder than words sometimes. Yes, it was a hard earned title but so is ‘ Engineer’ or ‘Architect’. I have not seen many addressing them with their titles as much as people call us Dr. ? So chill. Criticism is alright but you can do it more respectfully.✌🏼
