Regardless of how historically accurate it is or isn’t 2 things that can be agreed-upon are Are that they don’t make movies like this with such quality anymore and that this was the first true masterpiece from Michael Mann

A tomahawk is a better weapon for hand to hand fighting than the bayonet. The Germans mentioned that in WW 1, that a spade or small shovel was better. With the Bayonet, you have to lunge with both hands; you are vulnerable unless you really know what you are doing.
@117rebelАй бұрын
Yeah but if you can get a bunch of guys to make a wall of bayonets you got something formidable.
@jdee840729 күн бұрын
That was a trenches. This is open field, I'll take the spear over tomahawk.

If it was true then there be actual higher frequency of evidence of it. Believe it or not, people back then also didn't like to get hurt and will utilize what they can get their hands on. Long pointy weapons have been a mainstay for so long throughout history and intuitively reached about everyplace on earth. Native Americans and Japanese are popular examples of adopting into better weapons, instead of following the traditional method. If we can get our hands on advanced weapons from extraterrestrials, it be the same thing again.

The shots where you see Magua and his braves shadowing them in the woods above are just amazing. If it were filmed now doubt you'd have black Redcoats

It didn't go down like this. But this incident had major ramifications for how the 2 sides communicated after this in the American theatre of the Seven Years War. The British were furious, quite rightly so.

My first words on seeing that column of troops was just "Skirmishers." I can't say I'm too knowledgeable in F&IW tactics, but why on earth wouldn't you put out skirmishers in front and on the flanks if you're going through possibly hostile land?
@I.ToshiMjnАй бұрын
Maybe it wasnt actually a hostile land, maybe the French or whoever the victors were gave a tip-off to the tribals. I donno, just assuming from the video
