Those of you who are ignorant in the matter about why South Sudan is now an independent nation or the struggles it went through before it gained independence in 2011 should refrain from commenting. I'm South Sudanese and yes there are many problems with its infrastructure, but i know that it will soon be resolved. When i went to visit South Sudan and stayed in the capital city Juba, I was actually surprised with the rapid developments that were taking place. My dad even informed me that a few years back, it was completely destroyed due to everything that took place prior to the separation.

@jacobgalloway9123
@jacobgalloway9123 5 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure that's true. Leaders are from the people and the culture. If the culture and people aren't supportive and proactive towards a common goal than it will never work. That's why nationalism is important in my opinion. Only a nation with a clear and positive identity and goals can prosper. They can't stop killing each other long enough to figure out how to feed themselves. I'm afraid not even Nelson Mandela could sort this shit hole out.

@@christopherbertoli7322 Just because a foreign company is in there mining doesn't mean they are stealing from them. I'm Canadian and I live in a city that is know for it's mining and a foreign company bought out the long-time Canadian company that I grew up with, very little changed because there are rules and regulations set by the country and the union,. Many African countries have corrupt 'leadership' that takes the wealth generated and uses it for their own purposes. If they had their own companies running things it would probably be even worse than it is.

Since the dawn of history the black man has owned the continent of Africa - rich beyond the dream of poet's fancy, crunching acres of diamonds beneath his bare feet. Yet he never picked one up from the dust until a white man showed to him its glittering light. His land swarmed with powerful and docile animals, yet he never dreamed a harness, cart, or sled. A hunter by necessity, he never made an axe, spear, or arrowhead worth preserving beyond the moment of its use. He lived as an ox, content to graze for an hour. In a land of stone and timber he never sawed a foot of lumber, carved a block, or built a house save of broken sticks and mud. With league on league of ocean strand and miles of inland seas, for four thousand years he watched their surface ripple under the wind, heard the thunder of the surf on his beach, the howl of the storm over his head, gazed on the dim blue horizon calling him to worlds that lie beyond, and yet he never dreamed a sail.

I am an African, a South Sudanese by nationality. The gentlemen who has the comment above that sates, "Since the dawn of history the black man has owned the continent of Africa", has done no wrong in my view. He is analyzing the truth honestly according to what he has seen. More so, he is paraphrasing from other writers in order to support his critical comment. To me his comment is a positive criticism that can challenge any African, young or old to build a peaceful and prosperous Africa in order to prove his comment wrong. Nevertheless, until now his sincere comment remains a bitter truth that all of us should think about.

I can almost never watch these videos about a 'SINGLE" African country in turmoil because of the ignorant comments. You all think so whole heartily that the entire continent is a mess which is not true in fact its the opposite. why is it so hard for anyone to just simply do some research of the many positive things that come from the continent or perhaps you'd all like to think that Africa is nothing more than a cesspool of human suffering.
