why are the headers glowing red hot!?

@richardkilb8305 when breaking in the new camshaft, the engine has to run at 2 to 2500 rpm for 20 or 25 minutes. Sometimes the carb mixture and cam overlap can make the headers glow. I did warn my friend it may damage the ceramic coating. Gota do what ya gota do! Thanks for watching

I also have a 304 in my 76. What RPM should it idle at? I think mine is idling to high

@keithsetzer6631 I usually aim for 750 warm idle. Sometimes it's personal preference or if the engine has an aggressive cam the idle may need to come up.
