I have been an AMC enthusiast since my first car in 1979. A 70 Javelin SST 360 auto, since then I have all ways had a AMC in my garage. Rate now a 59 2dr American SW, 2.5 jeep power (not a duke) and a 60deg 700R4 (it was a bolt on no adapter). But as for the header concern great job on the welding and porting, I have done the same but do a bit more welding around the bolt holes enclosing the area around the holes and then either have the machine shop machine then flat or I have used a belt sander 48" and have had success. Once the header is done and the surface perfect don't use a gasket. Metal to metal that way they will not ever warp. If you do use a gasket and over time the middle flange will warp since the bolts are so spreed out you'll always have a problem sealing but if no gasket is used then there is even torque across the flange and no warpage and no leaks ever. I know exhaust gaskets come in rebuild kits but AMC engines from the factory never came with exhaust manifold gaskets. I know its hard to believe but they didn't. I even have the 1970's master catalog and no exhaust gaskets are listed unless you go to the group 19 section, and then there listed along with a Holley 950 3 barrel COOL. On another note hope you don't mind my 2 cents. Love your videos and builds and you do know what your talking about. I have also performed a lot of rebuilds in my years. 40+ years with Ford and I do love the work and hobby. I would like to make a video of this procedure but my video talent has a lot to be desired so hope you don't mind. When you overhaul your next AMC 2nd or third gen remove the cam bearings and take a 5/16 x 10 drill and make sure the main oil gallery is drilled all the way through. so many times there restricted and also, I all ways chamfer the BACK side of the cam bearings in line with the oil line from the lifter gallery to the mains. if you don't chamfer the bearings then when the cam bearings are installed they restrict about 30% of the flow to the mains bearing. Makes a big difference in flow and no need for that bypass line which doesn't do a thing. It's the cam bearings that are the concern with oiling and the main gallery slag. Hope you don't mind my rambling just trying to help the community. keep up the great work and videos.

And what size is the collector? Is this a street strip build BTW? If so, I would recommend an Old Headers by Ed catalog to help with this project.
