No other video I've watched says to use the rear brake in the beginning steps. Now I want to try this because clutching up only has me pulling forward more. With a 1290cc engine this should be incredibly easy. Surprised it didn't throw me up the first time I rode it home.

@1Turnatatime Жыл бұрын
@whatupcuh6722 well you'll still go forward just not as much like if you were in a power wheelie. But I had to work on my balance point too so that's why my forward motion was too much also. It helps

13 years ago.. Just thru trial and error.. Can't tell you how many times I nearly flipped.. The biggest thing I learned was to trust the bike and don't panic.. The engine breaking not the rear brake saved me every time.. That and body positioning.. The latter is most important for steering the bike up on one :)

Anything with 2 wheels will stand up... Small bike like that slide all the way back on your piolet seat, 2nd gear roll 30 40 mph, pull in the clutch, grab a hand full of throttle probably 8/9 grand, drop the clutch and give a tug on the bars, stay on the gas. All about timing though, happens pretty quick, cover the rear brake to, it'll save you from looping.

This doesn't seem to work on my Triumph Street Triple 765 rs. Even if you slam the rear on, there is no dipping of the front end. I don't know if it's the ABS or the suspension. I also don't know if it's a good or bad thing but I can say that the break then accelerate technique just doesn't seem to work.
@Slappy-N-Triggerhappy7 жыл бұрын
Tim Endicott I never have used the break to help bring it up and your bije shouldn't need it, don't get me wrong it helps with doing it but you should be able to just clutch up or power wheelie. Just rember taping the rear break will bring you back down
@timquain53417 жыл бұрын
Yeah the clutch up is a bit scary. Revving it to say 4000 revs then then releasing the clutch makes the taco jump up to like 8000 with changing the throttle position. The power wheelie seems like a safer way to learn. My bike definitely does not lift the front wheel when you twist the throttle in any gear. It takes off yeah but no front wheel lift. I'm told by the dealership that this is intentional as it's designed as a race bike. Apparently more speed can be achieved when both wheels are planted. Makes sense. Just annoying as I want to lift the front wheel.

Triumph Street Triple RS a weak bike? yeah right, they are the perfect bike with the right amount of power and precision handling.
@martins.87136 жыл бұрын
Tim Endicott dont worry.. With clutch you can easily go up with a bike like yours. When you are afraid, see what happens when you try 2nd gear and 3000rpm clutch wheely, than with 4000, than 5000.. You have to know your bike. So go on and try and try. Right foot on brake! Here are also better how to videos on youtube. Edit. Just do it when you are comfortable riding your bike.

This guy confuses people with the whole rear brake nonsense . Basically ignore the rear brake part to get the wheel up.
@waltermiller2496 жыл бұрын
No no no! Dont use the rear brake when you're clutching it! Only have to cover it in case u come up to hard! If u make a mistake with his technic u will lock the rear wheel on accident and that will send u sliding everytime. Use the rear just to cover your butt in case it come up to hard. Even if your not clutching it u can close the throttle and the front will still dive without the rear brake and pop up.
@blizzthebike2 жыл бұрын
this is for non powerful motorcycles. It works, it uses a lot more physics, and it’s only for bikes with proper grip. you shouldn’t lock your rear wheel unless you have a problem
