How about that, it warped. Cause you wasn't using a true fixture table. You was using a table saw Platform. To say you had production welds as an excuse for your welds. A true welder will own when his welding sucks. Nor would a true welder blame everything else for thier garage welds.a welder is welder rather it be mig, tig or stick. Can't blame one on another if you can't weld period.

It still would have warped if I used a" true fixture table" 😂 .

Thanks for taking the time to do the challenge. I agree I think all fabricators should try it. What I have taken away from this experiment is, the weldment must be quality checked before the customer gets it. It’s ok that it’s not built perfectly but do you take the time to fix it or send it out the door and hope the customer doesn’t check. The fixture table is perfect for checking the work. Nice job. Well done, kid! You got the spirit of Jason's test... to understand the tolerances and make parts within those, by whatever means. How much do you love those Fireball squares? I have a variety of them and use them constantly. I recently had to repair (replace) the landing gear on a trailer that was parked on a very oddly sloped driveway. The guy was worried it would be totally crooked, but I put my trust in my Fireball squares and when the trailer was finally moved to flat ground, everything was perfect. He was shocked, and wanted to get some for himself. Great video!

Great work, wonderfully done. Kudos! I do love Jason's tables but I can't afford one. I have a small Tab & Slot which works really well for my fabricator requirements. Jasons tools are really worth the money. Love the video, thanks for creating and sharing.

I think for not having a very expensive fixture table and all the accessories you did a fantastic job. I think you also showed how those tools can reduce time/errors which increases profit and improves quality.

Sans a 'fixture' table, a really flat table is a huge help. Thanks for doing this test. It really highlights how difficult such a seemingly simple job can be. Most importantly, the 'trust but verify' your work ethic is critical.

Awesome job man! Nice to see you doing this. I have wanted to try to do this challenge myself using my Primeweld fixture table since that’s what I have. I’m sure it would be easier with using the fixture table compared to using the table you chose. Which it’s nice to see you using the diy table instead of the primeweld one. Keep up the great work brother hope all is well and happy Easter! Oh yeah I’ve been seeing all the swing arms you’ve been making on the razor group you’re killing it man!

Great job Alex . Also, you can say that the Primeweld table would be a little step up from your "budget friendly" model . :) It's harder than most people think to get a project square . lol :)I still need to buy a few Primeweld things, like a cut60 and that table . :)

The cast iron table saw is such a good idea and super cheap. I've done the same thing and am in the process of having a jig precision cut so I can transfer precise 5/8" holes with a mag drill throughout the table.
@amcustomfab

I believe fireball sells a jig to do that
@mrvector257
@mrvector257 3 ай бұрын
@@amcustomfab They do, but it's only for a regular flat piece of metal and not for the cast iron table saw top. The table saw has that large oval hole in a weird position that makes drilling uniform holes all wonky. I had to design it in CAD so there weren't weird "half holes" around that oval or through the slots for the miter arm thing. Honestly, it might be a nice product to sell if more beginners start taking up your idea for using a table saw as a fixture table. Keep up the great vids btw.

How is that a " fixture" table? Fireball tools should know that's not a fixture table. A real fixture table you can clamp down with 2 inch centers. Since your not camping down in a z axis. That shit is going to be warped.
