Not a bad cpu. Would've liked to see some gameplay, instead of bar graphs though.

I get why you did it, but no one is going to buy a 8600G for games and have the settings at ultra for demanding games. My point is, not as useful as it could be the way you benchmarked it. Keep the ultra, but also consider testing at other settings which are realistic for the product you are testing. For me at least these tests are not helpful if I want to find out how good this APU is for gaming on its own. Thanks for the video, good day.

Hey question, I"m looking to build HTPC to stream 4k HDR10+/Dolby Vision movies from my nas (but don't want to buy a GPU). I have LG C3 oled TV 120HZ. Do you think this APU will run 4k 120hz movies? ( I like soap opera effect lol) and if so what budget mother board to you recommend. Thank you for your guidance 🙏looking top space 2-300us on mother board. Regards Shane from Trinidad.

@@Shinta0SaINt heya :) any mobo will work. Streaming won't take that much resource at all. But I'm not sure I understand where you going to get 120hz movies from ? They generally 24. So you may be taking a tank to kill an ant here :) My suggestion would just be get a TV box and install Plex on your Nas and TV box. You can stream perfectly like that. Unless I'm missing something?

@@WootDini thank you, my movies I collect are very large (50-75gigs), so all my plex clients can't stream it. I have unraid and a GPU doing transcoding. Im familiar that most movies generally at 24, but I don't like that judder at that frame rate, and I believe some tvs use motion smoothing to accelerate the frames. Im aware that they don't make movies at 120 but as you said I just have an inch to build a tank lol thanks for your feedback.

Hmm trying to think of a solution for you that will best give you a solution ( but note it will still be way overkill) My suggestion would be build a mini itx build but go with the 8700G for safety. Ether the connection to your PC from NAS. Get a mobo with 2.1 HDMI out and run that to your display. From there put a wake on LAN and remote control on your PC so you can control irrespective of location . That again is super overkill but will do the trick :)

You dont get it, the APU from AMD are absolutely great for office computers. The APU is awesome for Excel and Windows apps accelleration

@@WootDini I did, APU from AMD has been around for a long time, since late Athlon days. APU’s always had relevance as in office and it keeps the BOM down and it is better than Intel IGP. APU is good enough for Fortnite, DOTA, Roblox, Minecraft and other casual games. Note that Roblox and Minecraft are some of the most played games, for this the AMD APU’s are a great value
@WootDini3 ай бұрын
@@razakaze agree. AMD on this one specifically hedged on gaming as a feature. Because of strix and z1 etc they are pushing on apu. In about 2 years we will see Apus with enough compute to run AAA titles in 4k. My point in the review is that this is a new venture because Apus traditionally have never been strong graphically. So while the 8600G from a gaming perspective is good for casual, it obviously can't touch dedicated yet. I'm already planning a mini itx with ram clocked to 8000 with the 8700g to see how good we can get it because the 8700 is equivalent to z1 extreme
