AMD datacenters chips are gooood. But their software stack is lacking to say the least. They need 5+ years to develop what Cuda was doing in 2019. They are 10 years behind Cuda.

I’m disappointed that AMD doesn’t have a nvidia jetson competitor. I want an option to be able to inference large language models locally. Strix halo might fill the gap but I don’t trust it since it’s rdna. AI software support was never AMD’s advantage and even less so since it’s RDNA

It's the NPU that you have to look for, not the GPU. Inference goes 10 to 100 times more efficiently on XDNA neural hardware than a on a normal GPU (from Intel/AMD/Nvidia)
