Pretty sure "You can fascinate a woman with a piece of cheese" was written about my wife. The day I proposed, I took her on "The Cheesiest Date Ever™". First, we went to a semi-local specialty cheese store and got a bunch of random strange cheeses. Second, we went to The Melting Pot (fondue restaurant chain in the US) Then, we went to Costco and got a big bag of babybels. Afterwards, we went to the park where we first met so we could walk around the trail and eat more cheese. During one of our mid-walk snack breaks, I grabbed us each a babybel from my pocket. She happily munched on hers, and then I got on one knee, unwrapped my "babybel" which was actually a 3d printed ring box wrapped with a ribbon and dipped in red wax to look like a babybel, and proposed. i think that those types of people (definatly not linus or anyone ragarding him). have even been able to make us all feel some type of way, we damn well know wasnt any real fault of the person we either have bad or good feelings. are the every good persons problems around our globe. the people decieving people for their own gain. becouse we all know we are supposed to work towards some greater good. we currently feel we are all halted somewhere. and with the internet, i think at least i realised how people act when they are fully honest, linus i think i would be able to comunicate with, while i think i would keep my thrust 100% real by using the right communication. we know the people who act fully honest all the time. on video wich has been proven to be factual by either people outraging, but the outrage being solved by all knowing miscomunication hapened somewhere, someone other than that person known to be honest lying to us. and a lot of people i know to trust to be honest about the info they share on internet at least. all are able to have a style of comunicating that does have matching stuff with the others i can fully thrust. when i apply that knowledge in the real world, i can know which people are actually decieving people whit bad intentions, becouse that knowledge i said to have gained, has some people that have nothing in common with that comunication style and often with known tactics to find out liars, i am to think that they are definetley trying something with bad intent. those that dont get found to be lying i either think they have decieved me, or is me not being informed about them enough. then i think about cases where they are lying but also speaking with the comunication style that matches with honest people, makes me think those are people that have good intentions, but arent smart enough. meaning they either dont know or have been decieved or lied to. and if you would find no lie, and the comunication style matches. those would in that logic be telling only truth, in the ability of their ``smartness`` now if you would be so kind to put some effort into this logic, once you start applying that logic to your world, we should be able to both agree if its treu. becouse even tough i migh get you to question me. and i am able to clarify enough to make you at least understand my idea, that would mean my answers are making enough sense for a fellow person, so that would make it that either i dont tell you the real truth or you dont tell the truth. becouse we would only need one person that actually would make sense to both of us. meaning the effect the internet has on me. has potential for people to atleast realise we are smart enough to realise how we can defeat lies we are told about. TLDR. i know the way lies are defeated and mad enough to prove it. or i will be crazy.

As for the edge not allowing screenshots thing, I worked in a place that had over the top security, everything internet related was on a whitelist basis, we weren't allowed our phones, or even a pen or a piece of paper etc... and this feature would change absolutely nothing, because it was already predetermined how and to whom we can send files from the device and if I sent something I shouldn't via email to someone else in the company, it would instantly come back to bite me (and that someone else if they didn't report it upon receiving it). The only way to capture anything was to physically sneak in a device or something.

I'm sure someone has already mentioned, but you're missing a lot of context on the league of legends skin, which honestly just makes it worse. The skin bundle is being launched to celebrate their first inductee to their hall of fame, Faker, who is franky the GOAT. There is a cost share, with him getting 30% of the revenue from the skin sale. That's the only 'upside' to it. The skin itself has a lot of references to him, including an image of him during a taunt (drawn, not photo), icons, and his signature appears around turrets you kill while using the skin (the only truely unique thing about the skin). So, they're trying to capitalize on the emotional connection to him (he's pretty much universally loved and has been a pro player since the pro league started), but more hilariously, he doesn't use skins himself. He's only used a skin in a few games, and it was a mistake (a techie used a skin for the character while fixing a glitch and faker forgot to change it back), and a few times when his team basically cajoleed him into using their group skins (champions get a skin line, and his team has one four times). On top of all this, the skin line is supposed to be 'to commemorate and remember faker', but its a limited time skin that only whales are going to buy, and whales generally don't actually stick around, or even really play the game. So a skin line, meant to celebrate him will likely NEVER be seen after less than a year. None of it makes any sense except as a cash grab.

The bad part about Ahri skin is that it's made do commemorate the best profesional player ever and hee gets like $30 out of $500. Also, FAKER is THE GUY that had a skin made for winning the worlds with his team and waited it to get promoted to buy because he said the full price was too much ($5 - $10). So not only it does not match at all with the values of the guy the skin is made for, but also the game is in a terrible state with a lot of game braking bugs, lot of unannounced micropatches. They make massive changes every month, you have no stability. Not to mention that they do this almost pay-to-win things where they mega buff champions before skins are released, beyond the point of overpowered. For example, Ahri ultimate is 3 dashes that does dmg. Not only they lowered cooldown to about 2 minutes at lvl 1 (game is 30-50 minutes), they introduced a item that lowers the ultimate even more, and her general best items have all cooldown reduction. To the point she have it every 30 seconds, and the cooldown timer starts after the first dash (she can hold each dash after the first one for a 10 seconds) and for each kill /assists she gets another dash. So in a teamfight you can have 8 dashes. I was sure that she will be the next money cow for riot, i started perma ban her way before the skin is announced.

I think there are worse things: Artificially locking older chipsets from newer CPUs so you need a new board even though the socket is the same, and hacked BIOS proved they would work - and AMD doing exactly the opposite, even trying to flash a faster PCIe standard retroactively. Often time when I find companies having a maximum character count for password typically means the passwords are not hashed in whatever database they are stored within. Encrypted? Maybe. but I've not yet seen a password limit on a system that uses properly hashed password, and why would they limit it at that rate.

The Screenshot security thing,... It's not about "Security" regardless of the label. It's about compliance and being able to answer questions in an audit. These sorts of things are required by contract if you are working on a U.S. Government contract and is a constant and giant PITA.

The Time wasting in marketplaces HAS to be limited to only very obvious bullshit, because some people GENUIENLY just want to save great stuff from a landfill by listing it from 1-5$ or € I once got two great CRT's for 5€ each that were previously used in a hospital. One I gifted to a friend, the one I was using for a while was sadly thrown out a window because in a move my family wasn't willing to help me move, paraphrasing "That heavy old junk" A 21" Mitsubishi that had a max res of 2048x1536@75Hz 35KG or so though 😞 I mostly used it at lower res with higher Hz (100 or so) though and killed it in FPS's with those response times at a time (7-10 yrs or something ago) when even expensive Monitors didn't have remotely the input lag as a great CRT.

Something that does worry me about the court case wins for cheats is how broad it could reach. I absolutely agree that cheats of all sorts shouldn't be allowed to continue for multiplayer and competitive games. But I think exemptions should be in place for single player games, but the law isn't going to cover that. That worries me when it comes to the legality of game mods and the like. Granted that most mods currently out there aren't commercial software like the competitive cheats, but it might apply to someone seeking compensation for their mod-work via Patreon or the other donation-like sites out there that should have some validity. Keep in mind Nintendo's court battles against Galoob/Codemaster's Game Genie back in the day. I don't think they care to the same extent these days, but it's there for sure.

Regarding phones vs dedicated handhelds, even if you could make a phone that had as much power as a Steam Deck etc, a dedicated gaming device would still be better because its got a bigger/better screen, better inputs and other advantages that no phone can match.

as someone who was at the roast I can say it was awesome, it was loud at times, and seeing Linus get carried down by Chip and dale style Dancers was a hoot(I can be seen in the crowd during that part so when I watched it after I was all gitty, look that's me hehe). On a side note, I will say, that I am not the most comfortable person when I am around strangers, my sense of humor can take time to get used to and isn't always (pc). But when I arrived Colton opened the door and made me feel at home and even introduced me to some co-workers including Linus which was fun. It was well worth the admission price ($10 canadian dollars), and the 2 hour Transit ride (2 bus's, Skytrain + walk was well worth it), I suffer from Social Anxiety and it's gotten worse since the pandemic. I only wish I got more tickets and dragged friends to it. the grab bag? gift bag? or whatever you want to call it was nice and I used the LTT branded metal cup for a pet food scoop for years. I made an offhand comment on the KZbin video about how Linus will be in the dog house for one of his comments but I was only joking as I tend to do. I thought he would take it as a fun jab but he doesn't know me personally. I would only find out later while watching a wan show that he thought I was serious. for all I know I am shadow-banned because of that comment. I used to do Security, where I would escort convetions guests around from place to place to help make sure they didn't get bombarded by fans. but my Anxiety didn't bother me because I Had a purpose (a reason to be there and an end goal) so it was much easier and a way better experience personally, and hopefully for that guest. I remember the blue ball from my very first PAX I went to with friends. ALL HAIL THE BALL. anyway, I am rambling. Hail to the chief baby.

I feel the whole Valve non transferable thing isnt really up to valve. the specific games usage licenses are still dictated by the companies publishing the games. So theoretically letting them transfer accounts like that through a will could open them to License terms lawsuits by every game company in existence. which WOULD be their demise

Why not have “trust me bro” VPN, where it’s provided to get around geo lock, tracking cookie price rises and safety on public WiFi, but be clear you will keep logs for say, 30-60 days and will respond to law enforcement requests regarding serious crime? Guys please. I'm a pen guy. G2 refills are made by Pilot. Parker refills are a different style of refill. 2 different things. If they can fit both styles then please specify.

Even the laziest of searches gives: The ISO12757, G2 type refill, aka "Parker-style" or "Parker G2" The Pilot G-2, the famous second revision of Pilot's line of gel pens. The refills do not conform to any standard. The naming collision is unfortunate, and TIL the two G2's were different. What's more unfortunate is that you claim to be a pen guy.

I might be confused but I'm pretty sure Parker style G2 refills are a thing. That's what my rotring 600 uses. Here's a quote from a quick google search: In 1954 Parker launched their first ballpoint pen, and then three years later, in 1957, they improved the refill. This was known as a T-ball refill and was revolutionary at that time. It had a tungsten carbide ball with a textured surface that significantly improved the writing experience combined with a new ink formula. The design of the new Parker refill was patented, and no other pen manufacturer could copy it. Many years later, Parker gave up the patent, and the design of this refill became an international standard according to ISO standard 12757. Note the Pilot G2 refill is not a Parker-style refill and does not fit pens that take a Parker-style G2 refill.

Music licensing seems weird to me. A Movie like Easy Rider gets to use a song like Born to be Wild and its still available to watch more than 50 years later with the song still intact. Yet a video game or a KZbin video or other pieces of content get a very short license. What gives? Does Columbia (who made and own Easy Rider) simply pay more money all the time for a license renewal when it expires? Did Columbia just cut a big enough check to secure a perpetual license? Is licensing somehow different for movies?

Dang, I'm a big fan of Jetstream ink, but it only comes in black for Parker style refills. 30 bucks for a stainless steel pen is insanely cheap though, so I'll still get one. I dropped a couple hundred for a pair of machined tactile turn pens. The LTT pens are super inexpensive by comparison, though I'm sure they're not quite the same tier of product
