The point of a tax write off is to lower your taxable income so you don't pay so much in taxes. In certain cases it does actually save you money. The main point is put more money back into the business rather than it going to the IRS.

@@nedflanders4158 Yes, in both of those scenarios, you are still paying what you owe on Taxes. However, with the second scenario, you are simply paying less due to the write off. Which is what I said, haha... Linus never made extra money, he still started with 20k. But by using the Pool as a deductible, he simply saved $5,000.

But in the 2nd scenario, Linus started with $20,000 and managed to save $5,000 for using his pool as a deductible for his business. He never made an extra $5,000 it was already his money from the start. He just didn't have to give it up to the IRS. That is what a write-off is.

I haven' t even finished the video yet, but I am confident that it cannot possibly get better than that. P.S.- watching Linus develop as a person over the years gives me lump in throat. Linus if you do read through all the comments... I would like to see some vids on cases using smoke machines to give us a visual on airflow. I would like to SEE how all the standard case setups really effect cooling. Theres part of me that wonders if SOME messy cables would help create turbulence that would stir air in corners. Cable management vs no management comparisons would be really good.
