Hello @Dan, very nice content mate! 🙌🙌 I have a question though, I would like to upgrade my CPU (currently I have an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X - old buddy 🥲 ), and I'm thinking of getting an i9 14900K, but with all the problems that Intel has now with the 14th series, I'm a bit skeptical. Also, this month AMD will release the new AMD 9 series and the Ryzen 9 9950x caught my attention. My computer is mainly for video editing + After Effects and occasionally gaming. What do you recommend between this two CPUs? The budget is not a problem, I would like to switch to Intel, because from what I understand on the video editing side (Premiere Pro) it offers better performance, but still with all these problems they have now, I don't want want to spend ~$700 on a processor and 2 months later it crashes. Cheers mate! To give you some context, this is my system now: - Operating System: Windows 11 Enterprise - Processor (CPU): 12-Core AMD Ryzen 9 3900X, 4300 MHz - Motherboard: Asus TUF Gaming X570-Plus (Wi-Fi) - RAM: (4 X 16 GB) G Skill TridentZ F4-3600C16-16GTZN in total 64GB - Graphics Card (GPU): ROG-STRIX-RTX4090-O24G-GAMING - Storage: - Samsung SSD 980 PRO 2TB (2000 GB, PCI-E 4.0 x4) - INTEL SSDPEKNW020T8 (2048 GB, PCI-E 3.0 x4) - AIO cooler/CPU Cooler: ROG RYUJIN III 360 ARGB - Cases: ROG Hyperion GR701 - Power Supply (PSU): Asus ROG-THOR-1200P

Companies are releasing bios updates to fix the issues. I have had a 14900k since it released and used it daily for 5 different youtube channels without any issues. The issue people are having are people that are using unreal engine 5 and a few other very niched apps. But you can play it safe and go with the new AMD 7800X3D or 7950X3D & the cool thing there is you can even upgrade to the new 9000 series at any point because that will be AM5 just like the 7000 series. At the end of the day, the issue probably wont come up. The internet is just making it seem like a bigger issue than it is. I have built over 100 computers this year & 90% of them are intel builds with 14th gen and none of my customers have had an issue & I do offer 90 warranties & lifetime maintanance & upgrades for free. So I would have heard about it if they had issues.

Just built a 7700 6900xt pc from 5800x 6600xt and its sooo much better, do you think i should get 7900x3d for 300 or 9900x, 9700x on release or wait for a x3d .....considering how nice the 7700 that was 150.....an upgrade for price to pperformance is difficult....
@cuteAvancer2 ай бұрын
If these prices are real; that's so tempting because I'm still using a 9700k 💀🔥🔥. It's honestly been a great chip since I've had it but it's struggling with the new unreal engine 5 games going 100% and some games are too unstable to play (like The Finals.) A 9950x for 500 seems crazy too. I wouldn't really need that kind of power expect for Blender (where it's more of a time thing lol.) But the jump to DDR5 6000 32 or 64 gigs of ram, PCIE 4, an actually modern CPU with plenty of cache to spare, they run so much cooler, and I won't see a CPU bottleneck anymore lol. (Which happens way more often than GPU for me.)

Hi there, ive really enjoying your content lately.great job chatting about these sorts of topics. This video really resonated with me. I started creating content recently and I use an I9 12900k and I use it mostly for editing and work. Im considering a new build and may give Amd a shot. I plan in continuing using my intel chip for editing but may use the amd 9950x for gaming. Hopefully pair it down the road with a 5080 or 5090. These prices you showed for the new amd cpus are tough to beat. Do you think they will make a X3D chip that will be benificial for gamers? Think its worth the wait to see what intel comes iut with later this year?. Or just say screw it and get an I9 14900k and take my chances?

@DanDoesPC The Steam Hardware Survey is a much better representation of the market. When you see a large number of people commenting, they are individuals, not server farms with thousands of Intel CPUs. We are beginning to see AMD eating into the marketshare of Intel. AM4 was absolutely incredible. Inarguable. AM5 is so far absolutely incredible. Inarguable. Prior to AM4, Intel was the king and AMD was ass. Inarguable. The reason people care so much about defending AMD is their commitment to value and upgradability. Intel has neither. Gamers Nexus > Linus Tech Tips CPU: AMD > Intel (Value & Performance) GPU: AMD > NVIDIA (Value) As a person who also has autism, I can absolutely relate. That said, my comment would have to be twice as long to address everything in-full. Enjoy your cookies lol.

The word your looking for is Reputable. Also I've been using AMD as my exlusive daily driver PC from back in the Duron, Athlon, Thunderbird days (after upgrading a Celeron 333Mhz that was an upgrade form a P1 133Mhz ).. No issues works great. Changed to intel 2600k and that was great too....Went back to AMD at the start of AM4 Zen. When its Opinion on what you like more.. intel or AMD ..That's 100% fine but when a CPU is faster while using half the power draw and requiring little cooling. THAT'S 100% fact and if you purchase the alternative product because of brand reputation or history then again its only really a preference. The king of desktop gaming is AMD.. Maybe not for 350FPS high refresh rate competitive 1% dips but that's not really relevant to 99.999% of people. Also i haven't even pointed out the intel crashing issues going on at the moment. in 2024. no one should be buying intel unless its maybe a super great deal on a cheap 12th gen product

AMD and Intel has been trading blows as what’s better since 3000 series and AMD really starting taking the lead 5000 series. 13th gen and 14th gen is proof Intel needed major changes just to compete. Ya know I hear ya Bro. Being old I remember when AMD was considered less of a system. IBM was king and considered premium. In the beginning that was true. So has AMD took over the Crown? I do not know. Cheapest builds now is IBM 12th gen with DDR 4 memory followed by AMD 5000 series. . Most of the gains come from better Motherboards. Example B590 and Z790 MBs as apposes to B320 or IBM H socket 1700 MBs. No matter what we do the highest end will always cost more and be the best. Example the RTX 4090 will be the best video card until the the RTX 5090 comes out or something better. The market controls all that.

You know why people pushing back when someone is saying things on AMD? Majority of people who buy Intel are clueless consumers who buy everything , shoes, bags, cloths and tech based on the prestige of the brand and not based on how good actual product is.most not all who buy Intel are not seeking for actual info therefore they are not on tech YT channels. Those who buy AMD have a reason to buy AMD whether it is price to perfomance, longevity of the platform or for whatever reason.Most of them know what they are talking about therefore you have loads of pushback.

Intel overclocked their CPU's to the max to win vs AMD in benchmarks. AMD does it as well but not as aggressively. now intel need to remove the high single core voltages and lower their boost clocks so their products are stable... but if they are reviewed again they will lose more benchmarks... Its the reason they are delaying the release of a fix until mid next month.. they dont want their CPU's looking like bad VS AMD's new and also existing CPU's because the intel CPU's are not as overclocked as they were.
