Frankly its a disaster for both AMD and NVIDIA. AMD not giving a presentation properly and for NVIDIA giving us fake frames and AI as a selling point to buying an overpriced computer component that gives anywhere from 7fps to 25fps increase in raw performance over the 4090 with DLSS off. Of the two companies, AMD came out slightly less embarrassing because they haven't revealed the 9070XT yet.

We know it won't be close to nvidias launch which is also another massive fail. People won't wait....unless nvidia increases the prices but that's a big risk to take. They don't have drivers finalised yet, that's if their word means anything lol but it wouldn't make sense to only match the previous 70 card when they went out of their way to rename their card to make it clear they're competing with the 5070. That would just be embarrassing lol. I'm guessing it's closer to the 7900xt....which is OK I guess but needs to be priced at $449 imo. The 5070 should match that performance and beat the 9070xt in RT....the 9070xt really needed to be at least 10% ahead of the 5070 while being $100 cheaper to be worth considering

It got massive backlash, and had to cut prices and bump the GDP to 105w for more performance. They tried to pull an nvidiia move with the 4000 series, when they bump every GPU up a tier. Yeah, I'm not particularly an nvidiia fanboy, while I do own 2080ti, I use it for mainly for ai image. Amd GPU too slow on ai stuff. Let's see what happens. That's why they're only releasing RDNA 4's monolithic chips. The MCM problem will be addressed in Zen 6 and UDNA / RDNA 5. But you're also right to point out that executives don't want to fund a less profitable segment of their business. The problem with RDNA 4 must make them even less inclined to invest in their gaming division.

Yup, Ive been waiting for what AMD got to offer, after all, my GPU is ancient and I want to replace it, and I've already gotten myself a AM5 MB, hoping to get a nice performance-on-a-budget build going with those new releases, but so far, theres nothing to be excited about with the Radeon GPUs. I think your too harsh on AMD's 7xxx series, Especially after it finally got going with the 7900 GRE 7800XT 7700 XT, Which were serving a market Nvidia didn't really do any justice. That said you are fully right about the upcoming generation. Nvidia didn't pull an Ngreedia and AMD are completely in shambles.

AMD has always been a sideshow! Let us be honest, they make some excellent gaming processors with the X3D line. They make good to great server products as well. The APU's seem to be getting better each generation, but their RDNA cards are a WHOLE bunch of meh. I know people will defend the shit out of them due to getting more VRAM, but aside from that, do they really stack up in every way? No! AMD is okay with giving away the rest of the GPU market apparently, which really sucks.

@@Trikie77 why would they price it more than the 5070 when that will have similar performance...the 5070 should be at least 4070 ti super levels which is around 10% behind the 4080. so yeah pricing $100 below would have made a lot of sense, slighlty beating the 5070 in raster while having more Vram for $100 less. Thats what they would need to do be competitive.....but obviously this isnt the case lol otherwise they would have at least shown benchmarks. they've botched another launch it seems

We dont know it yet but the new info shows that it can bé samé performance as the 4080super or even higher but only IF you overclock gpu and this is nôt ideal also we still dont know shit until nvidia shows their gpus and i think right after them amd shows their gpus but im well fsr4 maybe gonna work on older Gpus as well but you gonna have to manual update fikes in games and that is bullshit in my opinion.

Also they're obviously not going to be aggressive enough in pricing if they're waiting to see what nvidia does. If the 5070 is $599 they'll probably price there's at $549 because Amd are delusional, that would be DOA even if it did have 4080 performance. If nvidia are dumb enough to raise the price up for $649 then the 9070xt will be $599 which is too much imo. So my guess now is that it's between $550-$600. Might as well just buy a 4080 second hand when they flood the market after today lol

Next month, the RTX 5070 $549 will be available, 4070ti performance or better (features aside). Then, what? AIB"'s models with cheap heatsink at $449 or even $499? So, at $549 you will be able to choose between a RTX 5070FE with DLSS 4 and stuff and a Red Devil ? What I suppose is : most the 70-class GPU gamers will buy a RTX 5070 FE, or even a 5070ti (more VRAM and better performance). I'm not able to see what AMD can do (on the Desktop PC side, beside keeping the bare minimum, in order to continue to colaborate with SONY and Microsoft with their RADEON division ; and also improving the APU for laptop and steamdeck like device). PC Gamers (desktop) are probably stuck, for now, on Nvidia side, I guess...

9070 and 9070 xt is replacing the 7900xt-7800xt. 7900xt has been £600 card on deal. Why AMD is a good GPU company is strong raster and massive ram with their cards. Let's take 6800 xt 16gb card. Would you look to upgrade last gen ? Would you spend on a different £600 16gb card, with better RT and fake frames. That's my feeling, AMD went in the show to sell a 16gb ddr6 card, with uplift RT, and fake frames. Not worth buying at 7800xt-7900xt cos it offers little. -£50 will not work. Strong raster,and high ram with real price.

AMD in GPU business is too small vs Nvidia (around one-tenth to nvidia), so they are not confident to lead and dictate the market price and it's normal, in other industry, small player is follower unlike on the CPU business where they are sizable (already one-third of intel, and continue to grow)
