@@theonerm2 AI is taking over everything. That's why AI is mentioned everywhere. The old paradigm of graphics is ending. In 5 years, the 4090 will be laughable performance because AI based rendering will increase performance 10x in that time. AI is not a buzzword, it's really going to change the world. Watch the Nvidia presentation for a real idea of why it matters. AMD and Nvidia make less on consumer sales in a quarter than they do from a single enterprise customer. The world is changing. MASSIVE paradigm shift in life as we know it over the next 10 years. AI will generate a video game from scratch, in real time, in probably 15-20 years. You tell it what you want to play, and it will make it for you as you play. Shit is unreal.

@@theonerm2 I know, but expect that to get a lot more profound moving forward. The first wave of AI assisted video game design will probably be mostly losers with a few winners. Eventually, it will be net positive though as developers can add MORE to their games at similar parity. I'd say 2030+ timeframe will be the beginning of AI feeling beneficial over all. Right now it's in a teething moment.

They don't have confidence. This is the last RDNA card. The next card is UDNA which will be based on their enterprise AI MI400 part. They are late in transitioning to AI based rendering. Nvidia really knocked it out of the park. It's laughable that the 5070 is "4090" performance using MFG, but if it works well I suppose no one will care. My guess is that the 9070XT will be great hardware but will lose in features again. It sucks that the "new" features are AI based rendering to accelerate graphics (since node shrinks are taking 3-5 years now).

@@NameForgotten1 It won't work that well in the real world, There is no way to adress the input lag issues when rendering a game at 20 fps native. That said, it will be faster then the RTX 4070 and early tests show DLSS will come with less visual artifacts, That with double AI performance for better DLSS scaling, Yeah it won't be a 4090 experience at 500 bucks. Not even close. But they do really have to in order to win?

Radeon did not give any performance numbers for RX9000 only estimations. The launch price of RX9000 will always be higher then drop after a few months. Radeon wants to get those sales from people who buy the new stuff no matter what the price is. Then Radeon drops the price after a few months to what the mass market will actually pay. According to Radeon's estimations, the 9070XT will cost $500-600 at launch then it will drop to $400-500 depending on sales and particular models. If Intel Battlemage had the inventory to keep up with sales, Intel would be dominating but nope.

X3D does not matter overall if you are not gaming on 1080P low with high-end (4090). Anything else just go with the normal one that is much cheaper then X3D normaly.

@@Ultrajamz yeah 4K gaming is normaly 100% gpu bottleneck. So cpu does normaly not matter and since you have a 7700x that should be more then fine for 5090 also 99% of the time.

This is the last RDNA based card from AMD. My guess is AMD realized that Nvidia was really far ahead in AI based rendering and so they scraped RDNA5 to swap to UDNA so they can just focus all their energy on AI. The AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 is probably the coolest part so far (It should be called Radeon AI APU 3). Just an insane beast of a chip compressed to the tiniest size possible. Chiplet is going to pay dividends eventually. AMD just needs to restructure their software stack and bring in some really top talent to lead the software AI/Hardware transition. (Yes, I realize this is probably a monolithic die, but all of AMDs chip designs are aiming to reduce silicon size and maximize performance. That's going to be important soon.)

If you don't want to drop fire GPUs stick to the CPUs. The leaks re the CPUs were what was expected. But did I miss the GPU drop or was it that underwhelming - which really is a dissapointment. Hopefully benchmarks show different. Wanted to move my 7900XTX from the 9800X3D office to my 9950X home build and was hoping to upgrade to the new AMD GPUs - but let's see what NVidia has to offer, I guess. Otherwise, I'll cave and scout a 4090 😟.

For the time being, it's a tiny portion of the market that uses 4K for gaming. As of December the exact number is 4.21% (source: Steam Hardware survey). Steam survey only records Desktop resolution, so many people with 4K displays are likely still playing at sub 4K (such as myself, 1440p mostly).
