He said he can't show performance, but [at 4k, slowed down to 0.25x] during the GOW clip I can see 60-65fps during the movement and for the NBA clip 60-64fps (with dips into 54) in silent mode (not plugged in), which is pretty impressive given how good it looks (even though I have no clue on the resolution and settings). Cyberpunk 2077 in performance mode (plugged in) was ranging from 64-75 fps during the combat - which isn't bad either IF he running it at mid-high settings.

@ramama98714 күн бұрын
@austinftwXD how so? I would even say an oled would be a deal breaker for me. An IPS would be amazing, but no one puts those on laptops anyways...

@@ramama987 proper blacks, perfect contrast, and vibrant colors. I've replaced basically every screen in my life with an OLED at this point and I can't unsee the bloom and "grey blacks" on other screens. It just seems like a stupid oversight at the $2000 price point because this could have been a one device fits all use case for me, replacing my galaxy tab s9, gaming laptop, and a docked workstation role. Based on the specs this should be like an $1300 device, if they want to justify $2,000 the only excuse is an OLED screen.
@ramama98714 күн бұрын
@austinftwXD yeah, I love my Bravia and it's HDR, I love my Samsung ant it's impressive DPI, my watch too. But anything that I have my eyes on and is close to me, I hate seeing the pixels. Current DPI on the current consumer OLEDs is just too damn small. The gaps are too wide and there is no way you can trade that off to perfect blacks. So to always take it everywhere with me and look at blocky text on that tiny 14 inch panel, no thank you. They did the right choice. You use laptop for documents more than you do for gaming. And text on an Oled upclose will never look as good as on VA or IPS. Unless they used a smartphone display, which scaled already costs around 2k, looks at top spec ipads and samsungs. They are mostly around 12 inch, except the Huaweis which I'm not familiar with. So an OLED of that clarity would add 1k€ more to the device. Who would buy it then. I mean they could've given us an option. I wanted to buy the first iteration of Z13 at 4k, but never found any retailer selling those... so I guess it would be the same story here. You can't source directly from Asus. And other retailers just think it's bonkers and don't order it, so it becomes obsolete.
@No1-h8l12 күн бұрын
@@austinftwXD OLED is Fregile and easy to break Especially in that thin Tablet form with x86 processor goes 100° celcius, that will burn the OLED panel and Asus won't take that risk Because how expensive it would be to repair Macbook even doesn't use OLED because how fragile it was people likely focus on the color accuracy rather than panel type. Samsung has been facing a lot problem with its oled and since there is no way to fix it 100%, samsung user just accept that oled is fregile and they need to pay samsung a lot money to repair it when the oled screen broken out of nowhere because oled failure doesn't covered by warranty

@@No1-h8l OLED panels are quite a bit more durable than IPS panels, particularly when most OLED panels are semi flexible and able to absorb shock better. If my minisforum V3 is anything to go by, heat likely won't be a major issue on this thing, tablets with rear intakes and top exhaust are extremely good at shedding heat compared to laptops.
