Great little video! Love how none of it is flash or fancy and out of reach to the home enthusiast unlike some other channels that give top tips etc. Nice work!

That was a really interesting video. I think you make some good points that any beginner should take note of. One thing that I would add is something to collect the machine polishing dust. When I first moved to blowing out the pads with an air line polish residue coated the lift, floor and trolley. What I did was buy a black traffic cone to act as funnel into a vacuum cleaner at the narrow end. Polish residue is blown into the funnel and sticks to the sides as well as being sucked into the vacuum. So long as the inside of the cone is washed when residue builds up there doesn't seem to be any stray polish elsewhere. This is my obscure solution to studio residue problem. Thanks for another interesting video and I am pleased to see your channel go from strength to strength. Jon @ Exquisite Car Care

Hi Alan. Just a note for you and a Detailer who was watching you Tips video talking about machine polishing and a depth gauge. You for got to mention, take a reading from below the bonnet and in the door jams as these areas tend to have less clear coat. This give a more accurate reading then the exterior skin. The difference between the two is a better judge of clear coat depth

Think the claw will be going on my Christmas list to Santa! I’d add a IPA or panel wipe type of product to the polishing list of of supplies👍

wouldn't disagree with these 5 essentials. Definitely worth cleaning up that residue with the buds & picks as you go. The Rupes claw tool.....couldn't be without it, fantastic bit of kit. Great vid👍

Great video Alan. One thing that you missed out is a trolley cart to carry your essentials around. Saves you getting off your wheelie stool (another essential??) and having to walk around the car when you need something. Keep up the good work mate. Enjoy watching your vids.🖒ting!

Super responses. I may have to make it "10 things that are handy!" rather than 5 essentials 😂

I love that you didn't recommend the so expensive scangrip light. They are good for sure, but not worth for a beginner or hobbyist. But you forgot one essential thing, the polishing machine. ;)
