***UPDATE*** Well I had a mistake in reporting the battery life and had to re-run the battery test and the result was over 10 hours on the continuous web surfing test over WiFi at 150 nits, on battery saver mode. You can expect 7 to 8 hours for real world mixed use. Depends on what you are doing of course. I will continue to test to see more results under different scenarios. I have the FHD IPS model and I am in the middle of the battery test and so far over 10.5 hours on the battery test with 30 percent left, so you can expect better battery life on the FHD IPS model which is no surprise.

Hi Andrew, Thanks for the Video! In Austria i was able to get the Lenovo Yoga 9i (i7 1260p, 4K OLED, 16 Gb Ram, 1Tb SSD) on 18.03.22. I can't approve this less battery consumption. The OLED is consuming to much, i just got 6-7 hours with 40% Brightness. Maybe your other tests will show more realistic values. It was heavy to hold an average of 8 Watt (average on HWiNFO64) of the whole system.

Congrats man, you and your team really did fantastic job in this one. Almost perfect, everything is tip top. From design, screen, webcam and performance. It's a really beautiful design. But, can we maybe get a 14 inch Yoga with a discrete GPU (i.e. 3050ti or such)? I really like what you guys have done with the design of the new Yoga series, but would like the option to have greater graphics performance when desired. I'm probably not alone. And, yeah, please bring back full size SD card readers on laptops! Almost no manufacturer offers them any more, but most cameras people are using take full size SD cards. Sure we can use USB readers, but it's not convenient (i.e. easily lost or forgotten).

Critique I posted on Lenovo's main video featuring these new keys, which to me should be removed: "Please get rid of these 1-Click Function Keys as they don't serve enough purpose to merit the need of shifting the keyboard to the left side when before it was ergonomically centered just fine. These 1-Click Function Keys all have negligible use cases. 1. No one needs to constantly be blurring and un blurring their background specifically on Teams (which is what the button is made for). A lot of people just blur it once for work and that's it. 2. The performance button has no use as before everyone did Fn + Q with one hand easily. Nobody asked for this mechanism to be changed. Heck, it was praised as the best way to change performance modes without being intrusive for good reasons. 3. The dark mode button is pointless. Almost everyone only needs dark mode in Chrome mostly and the extension has a dedicated button to switch easily. If you ask about the desktop folders, that dark mode button is coming later in a Windows 11 update. Confirmed by Windows 11 devs themselves. 4. The music EQ is pointless since there's already a dynamic profile which switches accordingly the modes. Dynamic sometimes even gets out a better profile than pre-selected profiles anyways. I can't even remember if there are more keys there but literally all of them have either redundant features or features that absolutely don't merit to shift the keyboard to left to have an uneven typing experience, and also that space is very valuable when moving the laptop around your house or work space as it serves to stabilize a hold there. A lot of people don't like Spectre's keyboard shifting the keyboard to the left for the ergonomical reasons I stated, and it's a shame you guys were one of the few who didn't take up this trend until now."

I have the 2.8k variation of this laptop. I wouldn't get that if you are nitpicky about the display quality. Colors are very nice when it comes to detailed images. The only thing about this model is that it has a screen door effect on white or solid color backgrounds. To me it looks grainy up close, but from arm length it is barely noticeable.
@JaegerZ32 жыл бұрын
I just bought the top version (OLED UHD, 12th Gen), knowing the laptop is phenomenal, but had a huge issue which was fortunately resolved. The sound was a disaster, felt like an mp3 in a 20-year old mobile phone. I tried settings, 2 Audio Mgt. apps (one paid), nothing. I was afraid of hardware/driver issues, I ran Windows troubleshooting and LIKE A MIRACLE, Windows recommended switching off a setting in the Realtek audio device called "Signal Enhancement". This fixed the problem. My guess is that the substandard "enhancement" of the Realtek adapter in combination with Lenovo Vantage settings causes dual "sound effect" syndrome.
@JaegerZ32 жыл бұрын
Not sure if others faced the same, after a couple of months new updates: Certain apps "switch off" the Dolby Atmos tool, causing poor quality and/or low volume. While the app is on, the Dolby Atmos tool needs to be switched off and back on (I actually had to do this twice with Chrome). I hope Lenovo fixes this with future updates. At least it is something easily manageable - but did drive me crazy till I figured it out

Update to my original comment... In July I bought the 2.5k OLED 9i directly from Lenovo for $1700, at the time it was the only OLED model available. The laptop arrived with a cracked screen, Lenovo quickly replaced it. I have their Premium Care warranty but I'm sure they would have been just as quick about replacing it without that, since it was a new purchase. The replacement 9i kept freezing, rather than replace it again I returned it for a refund because Best Buy had the 4k OLED 9i on sale for $1350 with no tax (Florida tax holiday). At the time of purchase (August), BB was selling the 1tb 4k OLED 9i for $100 less than the 512gb 2.5k OLED 9i! FYI, I have Best Buy's all inclusive warranty which covers accidental damage. I've had the 2022 9i 4k OLED for a couple of weeks and so far everything is working fine. The screen is really good and there's a noticeable difference between its 400 nit 4k OLED and the 500 nit 4k UHD IPS screen on last years 9i. Colors appear brighter and more dynamic with the OLED, even though the IPS panel is 100 nits brighter. I like the rounded edges, its more comfortable than the previous 9i but it is a bit heavier. I watch a lot of movies, so I prefer a 16:9 ratio but its not a big deal. I don't write code or do any photo editing, so I can't speak to those features but overall I really like the 2022 9i OLED. FWIW, I've owned 6 Lenovo laptops over the years, they were mostly faultless but one, the S940 had a big problem. The S940's beautiful 4k curved edge screen spontaneously cracked 3 different times over a 4 month period, the model was discontinued within a year of its release (too many cracked screens?). Lenovo didn't use Gorilla Glass with the S940. Because of the Lenovo Premium Care warranty, not only was each screen replaced onsite (in my home) but after discontinuing the model, they replaced the S940 with a new 4k UHD IPS 9i. Whichever manufacturer's laptop is bought, I think its best to include in the cost a 3 year premium warranty, not doing so is too much of a risk. Once again, thank you for the excellent reviews!

Hi Andrew, maybe you can check/test the noise of the fans. I sent my Yoga 9i back due to a terrible high-frequency noise coming when the fans are on. I'm pretty sure, that's is the noise from the electronic of the fans ("coil whining"?). The airborne noise of the fans is definitely good. Hello andrew, Lenovo offers 2 different chargers when I want to customize Yoga 9i at the Lenovo website. 65Wh and 100Wh. As it has 75Wh battery, which one is better to use in long term point of view? Thank you for sharing your feedbacks bro🙏🍃

I have only used the 65W charger and it charges really fast. I would imagine the 100W charger will be even faster.

Is the Core i7 - 1280p better than the 1260p? Are the differences negligible? I had my mind made up on buying the Lenovo 9i (intelCore i7-1280p) instead of the Galaxy Book 2 pro 360, despite being more of a Samsung user (tablet and smartphone), but now I'm in a bit of a panic because of this 1280p - 1260p thing.
