It's funny to think how much faster time passes for younger people. Comparatively much less changed for me in 4 years. Except I got promoted at work, got a significant pay rise and now get to work from home instead of having to commute 3 hours everyday so that's something I guess lol. Pandemic screwed some people over but low key was great for me financially even though by the end of lockdown, my introverted ass was so desperate for social interaction that I ended up going out to bars with colleagues and staying up past midnight chatting which I never do. I originally got into Hololive thanks to Coco, I remember that out of everyone I think Ame (previously sachi) blew up the most in terms of audience size and practically overnight success, since Ina had her art, Calli had her music, Kiara had her IRL idol experience, and Gura, well, what is there to say about her, she was already a queen of internet memes. I was very sceptical about the success of English vtubing but Holomyth really set the standard for everyone, I never expected them to stay this relevant for this long. I think it's a good move on Ame's part, I genuinely wish her the best. Girl has been through a lot, hopefully she can keep riding the positive momentum.

I was going through a rough patch at work. I had just promoted and felt like a failure after every shift and felt like throwing my badge down on the floor and walking out never to return. ​@@kaizakiarata5628 i think the thing is that sana didn't even considered that this could be an option she could take, as it was normalized that the only way to go out amicably from a vtubing agency was to graduate. ame making this decision for herself in a sense that'll leave the door open for her to come back for events & such, instead of graduating, is an innovative way for other members who may want to leave in the distant future but still want to be a part of hololive in some way. that way, we won't have to say goodbye to them but instead say "see you later" once they eventually (again, in the far distant future) come to this decision

Like any person that works hard Ame has goals. It's likely she's built herself a little tech empire and given the number of clowns that have intruded into the VTubing space but have no idea of what they're doing, this is very much needed. Ame's non-graduation is not as simple as it seems. Her not streaming has to benefit not only her but Hololive as well. In business benefits are usually measured in terms of money, such as reduction of cost or increase in revenue, or both. I suspect we will be seeing Ame at Holofes and other events so as to create new merch, but at the same time in order to offset the loss in streaming revenue that Cover gets from her streaming activities, she has to be offering some sort of service that reduces costs to probably both the talents as well as to Hololive itself and potentially increases revenue as well. This is similar to Cover opening up the LA office. Their primary purpose is to find merch companies that can manufacture products to the standard and quality needed to deliver merch to the US, Canada and Europe without the massive shipping fees. I suspect companies like Novel Horizons and other such companies are putting in their bids to manufacture merch locally. While time will tell what Ame is really up to I don't think it will be all that long as it is nothing private and personal. Hell, Ina even dropped the term Ame Studios (alluding to Ame's services whatever it is. I have my own suspicions and speculations it has to do with the 3D studio she built but time will tell)

HoloMyth was lightning in a bottle. They came during a period when there were very few EN vtubers and lockdowns were happening across the world. Cover had no idea how an EN dedicated branch would fare as most of their fans were JP. The audition process I heard wasn't as strict, yet we got the perfect combination of seiso, unseiso, tomboy, wholesome, and gremlin. The success of HoloMyth and HoloEN led to many others attempting to emulate them as well as a surge in indie EN vtubers. As a whole, western vtubing has only benefited from the launch of HoloEN.

I totally get it though, since she joined back when there was no EN branch and even the JP branch was pretty small compared to what EN is now. She signed up to be a vtuber for some fun and money. I figured that was the case, see it from their perspective for a bit, they applied and joined a relatively small and unheard of in the west Japanese vtubering company without a damn clue if this would take off or not and have to start a brand new branch so probably gave themselves 2 years time and if it doesn't work move on. HoloEN wat it is today was not wat they expected and definitely didn't plan for but now has to adapt to which I think was wat also happened to Aqua, Holo now and Holo then was not wat she expected either.

None of them expected success, which isn't surprising as Hololive was only just gaining the momentum from lockdown when they applied.
