I'm Lebanese and I consider NE Africa and N Africa to be an extension of Western Asia (i.e. Middle East). Sudanese, Somalis, Ethiopians, Eritreans etc. are simultaneously African and Semitic (i.e. Afro-Asiatic/Semito-Hamitic). Sudan is intrinsically Arab and part of the Arab world. An Arab is a person whose language is Arabic, who lives in an Arabic country, and who is in sympathy with the aspirations of the Arab people. Sudan fulfils all aforementioned ambitions and qualifications.
