@@KilynnTor As an Arkansan, I feel like I should feel offended, but like, you're not wrong? Tbf it really depends on where in the state you are. The more urban areas are nice. Suburban is...not perfect, but people aren't outright hateful and don't spew shit that much. There's an expectation of political calmness so to speak, as in, if you're racist, you say the n-word behind closed doors to other white folks, and act all cheery when actually around POC. Rural is where it gets nasty. Been to a flea market where they sold MAGA hats right at the door and I swear my heart stopped for a second. Tried to get a pic of them to show as proof, but my phone died, sadly. Personally I grew up in the more suburban area, so like, as long as you don't go to places that are labeled as Christian or somethin', most of the time people won't outright start shit, ime? Maybe talk behind your back all passive aggressive like. I will say, most of the folks, religious or not, regardless of general political leaning, who I've come across, they've all been at least vaguely progressive in terms of rights, like pro-choice and pro-trans. My pediatrician and her whole church went and protested the anti-trans bills, which was nice to hear. I mean, I'm a trans goth gay dude who enjoys quantum mechanics and general sciences, alongside your basic trivia especially about mythologies and animals, but like, all that aside, I getchya. Hard living in a state when most of the folks around you ain't got nothin' rattling around up there besides some cobwebs and a spider who died of starvation that made said cobwebs. I specified all that at the beginning to emphasize that I get how it feels to be the odd one out/only one with any brains on stuff. I have a love for learning and my education system tried to squash that. ;-; Also seemed to impress my teachers a lot, but I suspect their expectations where just low due to the nature of our education system, it really isn't good. My mom used to play a joke on me and my cousin of "a brain-sucker" where she'd put her hand on our heads and pretend it was sucking on our heads, and say it was starving to death, implying no brains. I think of that a lot when I hear about folks 'round here and in similar places. And my peers in school. The education is god-awful here, dunno what it's like there. Best of wishes, nonetheless, mate. Hang on out there. It's rough out here, but I'm rootin' for ya. :)

It's not the people's fault that they're dumb. Blame education in Republican held states that is keeping the poor and middle class from receiving an adequate education. Republican politicians learned long ago that in order to stay in power they must keep the masses ignorant. That strategy is going to bite them in the ass one day but for now it seems to be working for them.
