Reminds me of an interview of some American superstar on the radio here. I forgot who it was, but she had to mention the title of her song and it had the word "a$$" in it or something like that. The part about the ocean coming from Mexico to the Netherlands is actually true. It's called the warm gulfstream. It's part of the reason why our winters are less cold and the ports in Norway don't freeze up even way up north.

This clip went all over the world and there were many spin-offs from other countries, most of them also very funny. About the taxes, a lot of big companies have their main office in the Netherlands because of the deals they could make with the Dutch government. So yeah, we pay a lot of tax here, but not those companies.

dont forget the tens of thousands of jobs it created for us, the people, so we stayed of the recession at the time. It was a good call imo. They pay a little tax now btw but its still 4%.

Water is actually going from Mexico to Europe. The gulfstream is a water flow that takes warm water from Mexico/ the Us and then travels to Europe. Its part of the entire ocean water circulation. Fun fact: because of this gulfstream, we have very soft winters in Europe as it is warm water from the equator that travels to Europe.

Yes. I was hoping you would do this one. It went viral. The sunday with Lubach show, was one big satire show, but everything he made always was true and factual..... I feel like that is part of the Dutch culture, the ability to (nicely😉) ridicule yourself, laugh at your own failures, the not very nuanced humor, sarcasm. Espesialy sarcasm. Being maybe even a bit blunt in a foreigner's eyes. I mean, there's not a single Dutchie that cringed at the Jette Kleisma jokes, not even she herself. That is one thing I like about us. The world is lost without the ability to laugh at yourself.

i know im very late to this but since u asked; ponypark slagharen is like a huge playground with over 160 pony's wich u can play with all day and keep at ur little vacation house. u can pick up your horse at, if im correct, 10 am and u gotta get them back to the big stalls at.. 5 pm? not sure about the times but in between those times u basically can do whatever u want with the horse, (ofcourse with rules so the horses aren't abused haha)

A ponypark is a vacation park where you can rent a small tent or cabin to Stay in for a few days/weeks. Well this consept alone is called An "camping". The consept of these is pretty big in europe. But at ponypark Slagharen you get A free pony with your tent or cabin. This pony will be your private pony for your entire Stay. You are allowed to ride, walk, groom ect. Ofc the park makes sure you are under watch while being with the pony but other than that you are pretty much free to do whatever you want. This makes ponypark Slagharen a very populair vacation destination for families all over europe especially families with young children.

6:10 its funny to note, yes we definitly have taxes. but one of the best uses the netherlands have found for their empty land plots are servers to store data on. they require electricity and very little security, renting said server space out creates a lot of income for the owners because they pay almost nothing on taxes for the land or its maintenance nor the products it 'creates' so to say.

Well... It started as a holiday resort where you could get a pony during your stay... It had some attractions, but less. I loved it, it was my childhood and I miss the old park and they got divided into 2 locations, the real ponypark "Collendoorn" & the attraction park "Slagharen" there's a road train going from the ponypark to the attraction park so you can go on rides each day of your stay..

Yes, we are actually a tax haven for companies. According to Oxfam, we rank 3rd as corporate tax haven worldwide, only beaten by Bermuda and the Cayman Islands. Ponypark, lets explain. Pony as you most likely will know means little horse (in short). In the past, I mean until maybe the early 1920's, they were used in parks to amuse children. Getting a pony ride and such. The amusement park, simply used it for their name. Seeing it is a Zondag met Luback episode, which is, well was (as it is no longer) a satirical program on Dutch television. No the wall to protect us from all the water from Mexico, was a word joke on Trumps idea of building a wall along the Mexican border. Bro, did I hear you say politicians did go to school ??? In a society they make jokes about everyone. Why not about disabled people. Making fun of people with a disability is also a way of equivalence. I am disabled myself, using an electric wheelchair all my life. For me it's surprising that people in America are so protected and cautious with people who are disabled. Oke ... sometimes we have special needs. But treat people with disabilities equally.
