If this was filmed in November 1970, Dan would have just turned 20, Dewey was 18 (19 the following January) and Gerry was also 18 (having not long had a birthday in September). It's great to see them looking so young with everything still before them - thanks for posting.

Tell me about it. I was at a concert, they took a break. I went up to Gerry, asked him to sign their latest CD that I had brought with me. He did so kindly, surprised that I already had it. He asked me my name, I said Jakki Jordan. He said Jackie Gordon? I was a TOTAL goner, could only nod in the affirmative! HA! I had forgotten how to speak English and didn’t have the words to correct him. Just could NOT believe I was actually this close to these guys who I started listening to when I was 11!

I really like that part of your comment "everything still before them". That impacts and relates so much to not only these musicians but all artists and us as well. I remember that feeling of destiny and possibilities of the future when I was young. At what point do we only look back? Very sad when you can't feel that way anymore. I once aspired to be a musician myself, but I got side-tracked. Better to be young and not know where you're headed than to be too old and know where you "could have".

so if this clip was filmed on November 17 1970 Dan Peek looks like he's a teenager of 16 or 17 years old because I'll guess he must've had his birthday on November 1st 1970 long before this music TV show video was recorded for television

Gerry and Dewey look like they are 15 and 16 year old teenagers in the video clip of this song if I'm doing my math right so if Gerry Beckley's birthday was on September 12th 1970 he could have been about maybe I think 17 years old and if Dewey's birthday was January 19th 1970 he might have been 18 or about 19 years old then I'm quite sure
@Roberthenryii13 жыл бұрын

If these guys didn’t think business and dollars they could’ve remained amazing artists as they were when they started out.
@morningsky8045Ай бұрын
I disagree. Once Dan left the band, some of the songwriting magic and chemistry simply disappeared. Their first seven albums were absolutely stellar, after which Gerry & Dewey had several hits - most of which were penned by others. View From The Ground was also a fine album. They never really changed their musical direction - content with playing easy-listening acoustic-based rock. Nothing wrong with that as their loyal fans will attest. The Eagles in my view are the best band to come out of the USA, yet they spent the last thirty years playing the same classic songs with only one new album in that entire time. If that's what the fans want to hear, then why not - whether we like it or not. And for what it's worth, America are firmly entrenched in my top five American bands along with Chicago, Steely Dan and Creedence.
