The 70's summarized: No cell phones, no Facebook, no need for everything instantly. Just a slower life, people hanging out and enjoying each others company....and simple, yet outstanding music. Groups like America bringing people together with their magic!!! Dan walked away, Gerry and Dewey (thank god) kept it going for the sake of us all. Their music takes me back to a much simpler and underappreciated time, but their music lives on forever After he heard me listening to America one day, my 15 year old neighbor now has this song as well as "A horse with no name" on his favorites and can sing both songs spot on!!! No offense to Taylor Swift, Pitbull or Bruno Mars, but IMO the 70's specialized in music from the depths of your soul.

This is one of my favorite DAN PEEK songs by AMERICA. I also like how he plays the harmonica and 12-string guitar at the same time. Why couldn't GERRY, DEWEY, & DAN reunit occasionally for a few concerts before he died?
@ncwayneeric5 жыл бұрын
The split was amicable. This part of Dan's life became a drug-infested nightmare. He became totally void inside. Then one day at his oceanside home in Cali he fell on his knees and gave his life totally to Christ. Maybe a reunion just wasn't something he needed in his life. He had found his EVERYTHING in Christ.
@cinnamongirl78774 жыл бұрын
Wayne if you haven’t seen Dans interview about how he was led to Christ, you should watch it. It’s just a fantastic interview. Can’t recall the title.....something like Dan Peeks testimony to Christ. Maybe not those exact words but it’s just a great interview.

Yes, before they became famous Peek promised God that if he did achieve fame, thar he'd use it to glorify God. By his own account it took a good number of years to quit the band and fulfill his promise to God.
