Didn't know they were still together. About 10 years ago a local radio station played an advo for an upcoming show of their's at a Casino in Tama Iowa. Jumped at the chance to see them and they DID NOT disappoint! Sandman was one of the highlights of the night. Simply outstanding concert

America really is a remarkable band. Living in London in 1968, my group actually was involved in a battle of the bands with these guys. We were all juniors in American high schools, and they took home the blue ribbon. Check out "Daisy Jane" and Horse with No Name."

I'm 72 played the hell out of this song. It's a great positive message. Most songs in the 60's and 70's were 2-3minutes for the sake of radio airplay. Yes I still have the vinyl from all those years ago. Thank you for not commenting until after the song is over. Those are the only reviewers I prefer to listen to. Otherwise, it's ore about you instead of appreciating the music.

First heard this around the time my dad passed in 1978. 14 yrs old and was completely lost. In an odd way it helped. Same with Linda Ronstadts music at the time. Now for the PSA portion of this post. It was unknown to any of us then, but 40+ years later I understand....seek out and use grief counseling. If you don't deal with it, it can eat you up.

A similar band that is a little earlier than America is Poco...GREAT music. Check out "Keep On Tryin'" kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZqvGn6xvo5h0ndE Furay and Messina came from Buffalo Springfield. Messina went with Loggins and were huge. Timothy Schmit (long hair and lead singer on this song) played with the Eagles. Randy Meisner also went to the Eagles and many consider him the best singer of them all. "Take It To The Limit" live. Rusty Young was the road manager for Buffalo Springfield before forming Poco.
